Hi Everyone, Here's a first contact video with my brand new Harley Benton S620 TB. I'm used to be surprised with the quality of HB guitars, but this one is really amazing ! In one or two weeks, I'll make a complete review with this beauty, cos' she deserves it

Nice blue Are the pick-ups any good? How thick is the neck?

Nice blue Are the pick-ups any good? How thick is the neck? yes, really nice color ! I was impressed with how good the pickups are ! They have a nice voice, goos output but not too much, they're on the warm side... Kinda make me think of Seymour Duncan JB/59. The neck is a nice C shape with 22mm thickness at 12th fret. Reminds me of some of my Schecters.

Seymour Duncan JB/59? There was no Jazz Bass in 1959. I must be mixing up things… Warm side… do you have Roswell LAF to compare them with?
22 mm is fine, that's thinner than my Strat', my Schecter or my Aria. I'd be happy with it, but then, I've been happy with anything so far.

Yes I guess you are mixing thongs up, Leo. I'm just talking about Seymour Duncan SH-4 (AKA JB) and SH-1 (AKA 59) Compared to Roswell LAF Alnico, there's more output, more clarity and the tone is less dark. Now, that's from memory cos I don't have Roswell LAF at home any more.

I wonder if these "hi-gain humbuckers" (nonsense) are the same as those on my R-458, which I like, and also how they are wired. Could you check that some time? The humbuckers on my R-458 had their coils wired in parallel: If wired in series, as humbuckers usually are, two of their wires are connected together and not to anything else.

I'll take a look at the wiring this after noon. I'll post pics so, if my interpretation of what I see is wrong, you can try and correct me

LeoThunder here's the pic of the electronic cavity of the S620. According to your explanations, it looks like they're wired in parallel, but I might be wrong.

No, to me it looks like there are only two wires coming from each pick-up. They cannot be split.

True, they cannot split. So they're not in parallel ? I'm very poor in wiring diagrams

It is very unlikely that these would be wired in parallel internally. It is not a normal thing to do with humbuckers and they don't sound like it in Cory Mura's review, by the way.
I mean the wiring of the individual coils in the humbucker. In middle position, both pick-ups are in parallel, of course.

Ok thanks for explanations Leo. Someday I'll go deeper in analyzing wiring diagrams, and maybe I'll try soldering, but this day is not today

Who says a Floyd has to be set flat? This guy thought otherwise: The guitar appears to be an old Harley Benton MS-540.

Do the S620's have HAFs in them? All it says on the English page is "2 Hi-Gain humbuckers". Of course not. They're not Roswell.
