I love this thing ! It allows you pushing your valve amp to the limit without becoming deaf or being hatred by your wife and neighbours, it allows your 1X12 combo sound like a huge 4X12... Think I need to record a quick demo of this thing to show this to you.

Depends upon what you wanna do. If it's just about reducing the volume, the HB sounds like a better choice. The captor can also send the signal thru XLR and allows you having your preamp + power amp section and then use Wall Of Sound cab simulator. As far as the impedance is concerned, if I'm not wrong, it might just change the output level if your amp is set for 4 or 8 ohms. It may matter if your amp is not very powerful, but even with my 5W tube amps, I have much more power than I can use at home.

Yeah 5 watts is already massive at home for sure taurash ! The Harley Benton seems to have XLR DI output with speaker simulation (I never know if that is the same as cab simulation ) after that I guess it's down to whatever software we may want to plug in to if DI-ing. I've not enjoyed DI-ing for recording though so may be less of a concern to me. DI could be useful for live to the desk though. That's a possibility. I guess speaker emulation means the box simulates one type of speaker and nothing more. Pretty much what you have on valve amps on the headphone output. Cab simulator replicates real cabs and gives you the choice between several of them. If you sound better on a Mesa Boogie rectifier 4X12 virtual cab than on a Marshall 4X12, you can have the Mesa. You can also chose the mic you're gonna use. If you can record at home with a real cab and real mics, of course DI-ing may not very interesting for you. Except for live shows, as you mentionned. I'll do a demo later on this week and will compare my amps, recorded with my real 1X12 cabs and the cab simulations (4X12 of course) provided by WoS that I will never buy, not only because of their price, but because I could never use them the way they should be. I think this thing was made for people who love their amp but cannot exploit their potential. And I guess I'm that kind of guy

I'm just wondering if one of these devices might help my Laney be a bit more bedroom and neighbour friendly!

5W, should be similar to taurash’s amps.

So I would run the internal cab lead to the attenuator and then the feed from the attenuator to the I.C. socket?

I've finally made the video about the captor. I compare this thing with : - recording through the emulated output - recording with mics and I compare the 2 possibilities the captor offers (basic emulated speakers and cab simulator with Wall Of Sound)
