Cheers Djangle and DefJef. Next time I'll just buy the bloody pedal and not ask stupid questions. 😎 Is it possible to get one to try and send back free if you don’t like it / it doesn’t do what you want? You probably could @matinb I'm not keen on doing that though. I'd rather know what it does then buy it. 🤔

That’s fair enough, it is an added faff.

I forgot to mention if any of your amps have an effects loop I think it's possible to plug the AS into the return keeps it from being colored by the amps preamp circuitry. Haven't tried it this way though but worth a shot.

"And then there's that amp simming too of course!" I think that's probably the magic ingredient which gives each of these pedals their own character. Whether it's Joyo, Harley Benton, Amoon or Caline it's pretty obvious all these pedals are knock offs of the Tech21 pedal/sim series. Here's a link from Tech21 website that gives some recommended settings to start with for each pedal. Obviously the voice knob on the knock offs is called the character knob on the Tech21 and the AS is the Blonde, ACtone the Liverpool etc... www.tech21nyc.com/t21manuals/CharacSeries-OM.pdf

When you bypass the preamp DefJef did it also bypass the Fender Champ reverb? Im sure I read somewhere some amps retain the built in reverb and some amps don't. Also have you tried it this way on the Bugera V22?

You've all got me wanting to put fuzzes straight into my Laney now

I tried the soul bender straight into the FX loop of the Laney, bypasses the volume and maybe the EQ too, sounds quite different, not sure how to describe it, everyone should try it once just to see how they like it, presuming they already like fuzz tones.
