2) P90 are versatile for many genres? (I'd like a guitar who can play clean warm tones, but also warm rock tones) 3) With their midrange frequency, they cut thorugh the mix well? To both of these questions, I can answer with a resounding YES!

To both of these questions, I can answer with a resounding YES! My problem is that buying a guitar online, I don't know if I feel well with those necks ('60s slim in the SC-550; C profile in the SC Custom and SC 450 P90): I come from a Wizard II neck profile in my Ibanez RG 370dx, that is very thin and comfortable. Are there Harley Benton guitars with that kind of comfort?

Are there Harley Benton guitars with that kind of comfort? Neck profiles are a very personal thing. I know that Ibanez wizard necks are very "fast" and slim, so you might need a short adaptation period to play a Les Paul. However, I found the 60's slim neck on my SC-550 very comfortable (despite having relatively small hands). If you really NEED a modern neck you might be interested in Harley Benton's fusion models, but those are completely different guitars from Les Pauls of course.

Neck thickness in mm at 1st and 12th fret (fingerboard to back. no fret height):
2019 Ibanez Super Wizard: 17 19 2019 Ibanez Wizard (S, RG): 19 21 2018 Harley Benton SC-7: 19.5 21.3 2018 Harley Benton TE-90FLT: 20 22 2018 Harley Benton R-458: 20 23 2018 Harley Benton SC-450 Plus: 21.7 23.7
I wish I had values for the Fusion and SC-550.

SC550 Tobacco 21.2 - 23.5
SC 450 GT P90 21.9 - 24.2
N.B
Both of these were purchased 2019. The 550 could be 2018 as it was ordered when it came back into stock on the 1st of March (they were selling out within a few days of being in stock at that time). The GT was purchased in mid September so pretty sure its 2019. Serial numbers and the recording of info would be helpful but HB probably cut costs in this area.

Hi stromer - I hope you are fine with the Corona pandemic going on. I hear it has become a bit better now. Anyway I wanted to give you my 2 cents: Firt off - I love P90s and think they are one of the most versatile and underrated pickups nowadays. I have no experience with the Roswell pickups as I bought my SC-550 with Wilkinson pickups. I replaced them with Vineham pickups (you can find my report by searching for the term Vineham here) - incredibly great Humbuckers - but certainly not cheap. The neck of the SC550 is slim compared to the SC450s I had in my hands. I find the SC450 P90 to be a great value guitar - the only thing you might want to change is pots and caps. But great guitar out of the box. I would propose to order both guitars, try them out yourself and send back the one you don´t like. Edit: I would recommend checking out the new Junior like guitar - I love single pickup guitars and my favourite one (FGN J-Standard with one P90) is like that. The neck is a thick one from what I read though. www.thomann.de/de/harley_benton_dc_junior_tv_yellow.htmDid you already decide on one? Or is it not even possible to receive guitars in your region atm?
