One of the issues with my SC-Custom VB FR is the pickups. I've managed to take some resistance readings and have found the same fault in both neck and bridge pups.
The pickup is supposed to be 8.4k ohms. Red and White are twisted and soldered together. Black and ground are twisted and soldered together
Red & white to green - 4.14 k ohms Red & white to black & ground - 4.16 k ohms. Green to black & ground - 0 ohms. Red & white and green to black & ground - 4.15 k ohms.
Am I correct in interpreting that only one of the coils is connected to the circuit and that there's a break in the circuit to the other?
Thanks!

This is strange. Green should be the hot signal, red&white should be the middle point (the split or tap point). It looks like your pick-up are wired in parallel.
What are these wires connected to? What goes to the volume pot?

That occurred to me as I was looking at a Seymour Duncan SH-8 and I think you're right; SD's are green to pot and black to ground. I was assuming one of the coils was disconnected somewhere within the humbucker or there was a broken coil wire on both pups. But it might just be that whoever wired the guitar got the green and black the wrong way around.

Don't you have a coil split on it? Is it an older model?
