I confess. I'm a bedroom noodler!
But if I were in a gigging band, I would definitely take my HB with me to annoy the gear snobs ;-)

I have only gigged with my TE52 and my SC450 Plus, not with my CST24, which I find a little less easy to use.
The TE52 and SC450 Plus are gig worthy and reliable, although I normally take my Fender Strat or Epi 339 Pro, which are both superb guitars. TE52 and SC450Plus are perfect as backup guitars, but can also in terms of sound, tuning stability, playability, they can very well be a main guitar.
The fact that they are so affordable is only a minus to club owners that like to keep an image of professionality and demand that you have 'equipment of value', as well as some gear snobs in the audience. But put in them a decal with a personalized logo, say you have a 'tuned guitar' and you will have no eyebrows raised at all. Soundwise I don't think anybody (but you) will notice a real difference, especially if you have a decent amp and play well.

Hi DefJef, it has happened to me many times in my country, Spain. Club owners undervaluing your sound because you âplay in the cheapâ. They think that you are not taking them seriously enough if you donât show âFenderâ, âGibsonâ or JBL. They see Squier, HB or Behringer and you risk not being called again.
It has even happened to me in recording studios! A gear snob engineer refused to take interest in a solo because the gear I was using was âcheap rubbishâ. The next day I brought my most expensive vintage equipment and he was enthusiastic. Frankly, my sound was almost the same, but some people are so much into gear -and sometimes they have paid so much money for it- that they lose it.
The musicians with more consistent and best sound I know can sound well with mostly anything. And they know that some budget brands like HB can give you really good sounds.

there should never be shaming a person for their gear if they are genuinely trying to produce music for others.

If I ever were to set foot on a stage, I would definitely take the cheap stuff there. It's not as if any of the drunks were to ever notice a difference or even care about it.

No one gigs anymore. The future of music belongs to ageing bedroom players with a webcam:

..... or not I've already been drinking beer with friends on skype these last weeks.... And I'm sure of one thing : that won't replace the ones we may pour on our amps when we meet

I gig an SC-Custom. It does the job well. I use it in the studio, too. (Full disclosure - It's not all stock. All the electronics were swapped about 3 days after I got it. )
