Hi everybody,
Newbie here, and I'm diving right in with a question. Or a plea for help. A long time ago, I bought a Harley Benton V Style kit. IIRC, it was 7 seven years ago. Due to certain orivate circumstances, I didn't get round to building it. Now, the good news is, my 14 year old has started playing guitar like a mad man, and come across my kit. As you can guess, we are building it now.
I had a hard time looking for a manual, but found it thanks to archive.org. I didn't think I'd need it, but the pick guard, which holds all the electronics, has some unattached wires. I'll attach a picture.
One wire is a red one from the bridge selector, the black one comes from the tone knob. As you see, the manual says that no soldering is necessary. The Thomann help desk is no help as well.
So , my question. Who has build one of these kits and can help me and my son out? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Regards, Paul.

The red wire looks like it belongs on the side lug of the volume pot, the lug on topof the picture, as shown here: I would need to see how these two volumes pots are connected to be sure. The black one likely goes to the Tune-o-matic bridge.

2 volumes, 1 tone, no coil split and a 3 way switch? Yeah, I found this as well. Unfortunately, HB has a different wiring.

If you're competent enough with a soldering iron then just unsolder everything and start again! You'll also be able to test if the pots are still within specs if you do this.

I still can't see for sure but if the thick red wire coming from the bridge pick-up is connected to the middle lug through some white internal wire and to the casing of the pot through bare surrounding wire as shown in the picture below, then the loose red wire coming from the selector switch definitely belongs on the "left" lug:

A picture of the build manual stating clearly that no soldering is needed. Oh well.

I can do some soldering, but I'll leace this a last resort. Thanks for the help so far!

I'm posting more photos after this.
