I'm not expecting it to be the end of all gear purchases, but it'll be fun to try out for sure By the way, I'm not even a particularly gifted guitarist, but I LOVE trying out new tones!

If your using through a good clean amp I think you will find some useable tones @coldwar1977.
You know what pedals are about you'll suss it out. The only gifted guitarists are the ones making millions the majority of the rest of us chase tone. 😜

Too late but I'd also recommend the American Sound or AC Tone....those cheap amp sim pedals are very versatile as they have more tone shaping options (both in EQ and Gain) than the usual one knob pedals.

Has the Mosky arrived yet @coldwar1977 hey there DefJef , nope it could take several weeks as I've ordered it directly from a Chinese eBay distributor. I ordered a few fretwraps 5 weeks ago, and they still aren't here, but that's always the case when you're a cheapskate like me who buys on the other side of the globe to save some bucks ;-)

Nice one @coldwar1977 👍 Glad you like it, you can get a good range of tones out if it. They work well with other pedals I find it quite versatile. It definitely made me a klon style convert. 🎸 🎛️

It definitely made me a klon style convert. 🎸 🎛️ Me too! I finally get the hype. Makes me wonder how good a REAL Klon must sound And its tone is much more different from my Tubescreamer than I had anticipated. Great buy. I'm buying another one for my brother-in-law. Gotta share the goodness

The klon sound definitely does it for me @coldwar1977 😉 I did research all the klon clones before buying and both the silver horse and golden horse by Mosky got good reviews. £20 vs £2000 Mosky won hands down lol. DefJef I think you would find a use for it. Its really good when you stack it with other drives it really is versatile.

I'm interested whether the Mosky does what you were originally asking @coldwar1977 ? To replicate the sound of an amp breaking up. I got the impression that the Klon Centaur and it's clones were designed to be the opposite, to transparently boost and overdrive a tube amp with clean gain. That's the kind of drive that I like giving my amp with my booster pedal. It does nothing for a solid state amp like my Katana as it can't boost any preamp valve. Hey DefJef , imho it does both things equally well. It's of course a fantastic clean booster for tube amps (or tube amp sims, for that matter), but much to my surprise it also sounds killer as a standalone overdrive simulating a crunchy tube amp. Its gain dial has a great range too, going from nothing at all to quite some dirt! I also found that as you crank the gain, you get more more bass and more mids, so your overdrive will never sound whimpy or thin. And meanwhile it still has a lot of clarity too! I know I sound like a happy fool on a honeymoon trip, but in three decennia of guitar noodling I honestly have never played another OD pedal that sounded better to my ears. It's insanely musical.
