I was wondering if the pickguard of the ST62 had standard dimensions (and hole location). I prefer 3ply pickguards and would like to replace the white one with a white-black-white version. However: the regular ST-62 has a 3-ply pickguard. Only the recent ST-62CC models come with a one-ply white one, except the "Placid Blue" variant. Hi Leo, You're right, the pickguard on the ST62MN VW is 3-ply. I was clearly not 100% awake last time I've checked. Good news for me 🙂 Now if I want to change the backplate to a 3-ply version ? Thanks, Fred.

Now if I want to change the backplate to a 3-ply version ? Does this even exist? Yes, it does. Anyway, that should be much easier but you still have to pay attention because middle screw holes for those are shifted on Fender originals:

Not sure that would be vintage correct Fred. (Shhh, don't mention the other things that aren't! ). Argh what should I do ? Maybe I can pretend that some very rare models have been sold with 3-ply backplate. These are so rare that very few remember they actually exist 😉 Fred.

Not sure I would have catched it. Fred.
