Just curious, but how many of you have had your guitar processed through customs at ISC Chicago? Seems like everyone else on here has had theirs processed through New York? I did some research on the Chicago facility and apparently it's notorious for extremely long delays. I've been waiting since May 20th but I saw where some people had been waiting for their items longer than that.

I've decided that i don't need this HB bass i brought and hoping it get to a point that is is reported lost so i can ask for a refund.
Checked today and its status has not changed since 5/26 and there is no indication it ever reached US customs like everyone else's who order around the same time.
I can only hope it's truly lost so i can get the refund i want now.

I ordered my SC-550 on March 6 and just received it today. It took from March 6 to June 6 for it to even reach customs and then it took until June 30 to clear customs. Not exactly the instant gratification I was seeking when I placed the order.

Tracking still shows "export destination center" in Frankfort from 15 May, although Thomann confirms the plane left Deutschland, on time for the US, on 16 May.
Not a single word since; I have gotten no further assistance from Thomann other than, "Customs-Wuhan Virus-wait". An investigation was started, but they cannot explain what that means or how it will help. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Sane here. Thomson says it’s stuck waiting in a container in US customs.

I guess I'm a masochist, because I just ordered another HB (the JA60). Let's see how long this takes to get to California.

UPDATE FROM THOMANN
Dear Christopher,
Thank you for your email.
The 60 days are in fact only reserved for the investigation time frame.
Please note that the investigation is indeed still ongoing and at this point, we do not have received any news or updates from DHL/USPS.
We have learned from customers that the US customs are since weeks now working with a triage system for the parcels by "priority" rather than by date of arrival.
According to their method, all express cargo and all parcels with a monetary value of $800 or more is moved to the front of the line, like people with Fast Passes at Disney World.
When you combine this with the Coronavirus, there is no wonder why we have 600+ parcels stuck at customs (yours included).
Thank you for your patience with this.
Kind Regards
Neil Ferret, Tracking Team

I doubt they know the monetary value of things, how could they?

Things may be different in the US but whenever I've bought anything from the Far East to be shipped to the UK, the packaging has always got a customs declaration with the value of the contents on the package.

Monetary value must be shown when shipping international (and most of the time when shipping domestic also).
It is strange that they would decide to put items in order based on value, except that the higher value items obviously bring more income due to importation taxes.
During the major disruptions here due to Covid, packages that were medical or other basic supplies were always moved to the front which led to long waits for other stuff. However, its the first time I have heard of them being sorted by value.

I guess I'm a masochist, because I just ordered another HB (the JA60). Let's see how long this takes to get to California. I just ordered a TE-20 to mod, and two short scale guitars for my boys, on 14 June, and UPS had it to my farm in Indiana by Sat 18 June. Unbelievable...especially considering I have waited over two months for a DHL/USPS guitar that still hasn't arrived.

Yes, I think Thomann has improved the timeliness of their delivery by contracting with UPS. My new order actually shows a "scheduled delivery date" (3 days!) which I didn't see with my last order through DHL/USPS.
