I see one of the two guitars I ordered almost 3 weeks ago has gone up in price 12%. Glad I got it then! The other HB guitar I got (SC-450Plus LD Vintage) hasn't changed in price at all. Harley Benton CST-24HB Charcoal Flame - May 8: 186.55 Euro
- May 27: 209.24 Euro

Thomann's prices do go up and down anyway but it seems transport is more costly during lockdown. Whether that's because it really is costing the delivery companies more to operate or they are just using the situation as an opportunity to profiteer, I really don't know. No more flat rate for Aussies, so no more Thomann for me: Is UPS Express the normal delivery service to Oz?

Guys keep in mind currency valuations effect prices. The price could be the same but the currency changes in value up or down.I know some people that trade Forex. It makes the stock market look safe. Euro to $ is all I look at from here. It doesn't have wild swings very often. Most of the time its a percent or so. Forex trades pretty much 24/7. Its 8 AM somewhere.. Euro to the county of product origin can vary as well. With all the crazy news and the situation between Hong Kong and China we have no idea what can change over night.Your method of payment may charge for the currency change. If my memory is correct the first time I bought something direct out of China the fee was about 3%. That was the charge card company fee for the transaction. Some cards don't charge. Most do. The changes you see (or some of) are probably done by a computer automatically based on exchange rates at that moment in time. It would be a massive job for human to go through the entire stock to do it one item at a time. There are online trackers to show exchange rates in real time if you are curious about it.

Since I don't know what the Thomann page you see is for your country it probably has a text line like what I see for the US. Look below the price for something like this. The price in USD is a guideline price only! That seems to refer to exchange rate fluctuations in my understanding. I think they may use the rate at the time the invoice is created. But I don't know that. If I recall once the invoiced price in Euro was lower than the displayed price. If the order stays open for days it almost has to be at a different rate. You could ask in a Thomann chat sometime for a official explanation.

Keep in mind eBay sellers aren't necessarily making money hand over fist. eBay charges 10% of the selling price and PayPal takes another 5%. I recently sold a camera lens on eBay for $429 which cost me $72 in fees and shipping, assuming my time for listing, packaging and shipping the item was worth nothing. Really quite annoying as a seller. What appears at first blush as a profit for a seller could be very little profit or even a loss.
Just a little perspective from a seller's point of view, but yeah, it's interesting to see the dynamics of economics and supply/demand in action.

Yep. I ordered a TE-52 six weeks (which I'm still waiting for, unfortunately), and noticed that the price went up 30 euros. I'm happy I bought mine when I did.

I must say those price increases are pretty massive sometimes. The S-620 rose from 138€ to 158€ - no currency valuation for me, I live in France. I guess there are good reasons for this, but I also think Thomann should explain these reasons to the customers that we all are. I remember a time, not so far away, when Thomann was always cheaper than anybody else, or at least, at the lowest retail price you could find. What I mean is these price increases do not only affect Harley Benton guitars, but some other brands too. For instance, this Schecter : 831€ on Thomann The same Schecter on a french website that is much much less big than Thomann, for only 799€. So, ok, with Harley Bentons, they do what they want, it's their own brand. And I can understand some prices for factories, for shipping to Germany and so on have risen. But as far as the other brands are concerned ? Are they just trying to raise up their mergin ?
