hi,
I would like to change the bridge of my TE 52 with a six saddle bridge.
I found this one:
Anyone put this bridge and can share his experience? did the screw holes fit properly? Any other six saddle bridge that you suggest?
Thanks.

ok, thanks for your answers. I actually don't necessarly want a wilkinson bridge, I just want a six saddles bridge that fits on the TE 52, possibly not too expensive.
Any ideas about that?

I've replaced the ashtray bridge with a six saddle. The bridge fit perfectly. However, I'm finding that the saddles seem to sit further back than the 25.5 inch telecaster scale. Some of the saddles are sitting at the very edge of their screws. I've never done any work on guitars before - I've always had tech do it, so I don't really know what I'm doing and I've probably just done something stupid. After I change the pickups and tuners, I'll take it to my guy to change the nut (Graphtec) and dress the frets, I'll have him check the bridge too.

I installed the Gotoh 6-saddle bridge (Gotoh GTC 201 T-Style Bridge C). Indeed the saddle adjustment screws are too short, I installed M3 x 25 screws to replace the old ones. Also, since the bridge sits very low, I replaced the saddle height adjustment screws (M3 x 8).

I installed "Harley Benton Parts Standard T-Style Bridge" € 29 from Thomann.... on my TE-52 www.thomann.de/intl/harley_benton_parts_standard_t_style_bridge.htmIt's a chrome plated brass plate with 6x stainless steel bridge saddle. Quite a sturdy solid bridge. I also had to replace the string intonation screws. It came with black steel M3x20mm pan head pozi. I bought some M3x30mm Pan head slotted Stainless steel screws from a local hardware supplier as they had no M3x25mm in stock. I cut them down to M3x23mm as that seemed perfect for me. I also stretched the springs a little to stop any possible sympathetic resonation. Now the whole bridge is non ferrous. I managed to dial in the saddle height well within the limit of the adjusters but i have levelled, re-crowned and polished the frets Although the swap was straight forward, i did plug and re-drill one of the 4 fixing screw holes in the guitar body as one hole wasn't quite perfect. Probably due to tolerances on the manufacture of the replacement bridge. That said, i tend to want things perfect. Most would have been happy with one fixing screw slightly on the skew. The fixing screws are hidden by the saddles so only i would know. Anyhow, the whole guitar plays so much nicer and sounds much cleaner when selecting the bridge pickup. Remember the stock TE-52 bridge is chrome steel so it does have an impact on the magnets in the pickup, thus it muddies the sound a little of that bridge pickup. The new all non ferrous chrome brass bridge is a vast improvement on sound. I will post some pics in a few days when i have spare time. Hope my sharing adventures with this guitar is of some help to others.
