Isnt one big difference on the new custom II that it has the easier access heel joint like the 550, rather than the classic lp heel joint on the old custom?

Great, will have a look when I can. I did realise a few days ago that you've never reviewed or compared against a Fusion-II, even though they are an Ibanez type superstrat. That's right ! There are basically 2 reasons for this. First : I prefer super strats with arched top body. Second : I could have been interested in a Fusion Pro with 24 frets, FR and something like a black or dark color. But my 2 fav colors (black and purple) only exist in 22 frets. Then, there's the blue one with flamed canadian maple. It looks cool but it's 150 bucks more expensive and I don't think it's worth it. So, I guess I will eventually demo one of these, this fall or this winter, but I still don't know which one I'm gonna chose

Your EMG vs HBZ is incredibly useful...! After watching it, especially the isolated sound, swapping decision is truly a no brainer- EMGs all the way - but for the price, HBZ do it very well...and for a hobbyist, absolutely no need to change... Thank you for that ! I saw in the comments you are saying that EMG are possible to be inserted directly instead of the HBZs... Still, EMG potentiometers and full wiring is a plus, so if you haven't replaced it, it may help even more with your guitar potential discovery if you do put EMG pots in..! ps: i have also discovered SubZero brand a few weeks ago..great design, intrigued to explore them...!

Thanks p123223 ! I do confirm that you can swap from HBZ to EMGs with no problem, it's gonna work. Basically, all the brand I know, when they put EMGs somewhere, they never use the solderless kits. Now, as far as replacing the electronics for a 100% EMG experience, well it can be good, depending upon the quality of the electronics in your guitar. Ok, as far as the SC-1000 is concerned, it sounds like another no brainier. But to be honest, on my first SC-1000 - the one in my review - I had done it. Then, I had a problem with the painting that started cracking around, so I've returned it to Thomann. Before doing that, of course, I took back my precious EMG solderless kit + Toggle ! When I got the now one, with perfect painting, I put me EMGs inside, keeping the stock electronics, and I tried to hear if I could hear the difference. Really, it's almost impossible to hear it. So, eventually, I didn't do the all change again and maybe I did well cos, now, I also have an EX-84 modern, and this bad boy needs an EMG solderless kit if I want to load it with good old EMGs Well this subzero... It's just a pure beauty ! Really can't wait to get my hands on it and listen to how it sounds

Thnak you...that was very very useful information regardingan experience with and without the EMG electronics...unlucky paint crackle at least led to something useful out of it! Since EMGS with no electronics, only pickups, in used adds are Much cheaper, than with 100e upgrade for both used EMG pus makes it immidiate and huge upgrade for the SC1000...Thank you for sharing!
