Now that the SC-500s are back in stock--- does anyone know if they are still made in Vietnam or have they shifted production to China? (I emailed Thomann earlier this week to ask but have yet to get a response from them).
Thanks in advance.

(I emailed Thomann earlier this week to ask but have yet to get a response from them). Thanks in advance. My SC-550 (february '20) was made in China. Great guitar, I can't find a single flaw. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Received my sc-550 yesterday. Made in vietnam. Quality of build is excellent as in the components and feel. Everything nice and tight and no blemishes really. However the color finish is entirely inconsistent. Don't expect to receive what is pictured. It could be better or it could be worse. My Paradise amber flame is definitely not what is pictured. To conclude, Build quality exceeds expectations Colored Finish Was disappointing imo. But thats just an opinion on judging it relative to what is advertised.

Oh yes, the finish issue. There's truth to that. You kinda never know what you'll get, that's HB for you I ordered a "faded tobacco flame" and I received something akin to "faded honeyburst". It grew on me though.

I like your guitar elliott . It looks really badass!!! I guess that is why quality control at the factory didn't reject the guitar - its a well made guitar and someone would love it! Thomann do state that "Before your gear can be shipped, it's picked and checked. Double basses, Guitars etc are checked by trained experts prior to shipment." On the assumption that this does happen, perhaps the focus is on damage, construction/build problems and flaws in the finish.

It looks like an issue with lighting too. Those sort of figured maples reflect the light in such odd angles and the colour of that light makes a difference too. Always terribly difficult to photograph because there is no real static colour. Absolutely correct, with this example the color and flame shifts with the angles giving It definitely its own character. It's an incredible guitar construction wise, but color wise the pictures I took and how it looks in person is still quite a bit different and definitely a lot different from whats advertised. Grateful for all the comments from ya'll! It's growing on me slowly haha.

I've hopefully put a link to the original thread of my 550 🤞 I'd be interested to know how much the colour differs? theharleybentonclub.proboards.com/thread/3334/sc-550-faded-tobacco-flame

@coldwar1977 did you check out the pics of my 550? If so does it look a lot different from yours?

No, it's quite similar, but yours has a more pronounced flame. I like 'em both!

Found it!! This is what I had ordered: This is what I received:
Not what I would call "tobacco sunburst". AT ALL. But hey... I like it!! It's one of the best guitars I ever had!

I did wonder if China or Vietnam colours/finish differed much? But I doubt any two are quite the same even from the same factory.

Yours does look very similar to mine @coldwar1977.
I love mine too, as you say they are very good guitars. I can't fault mine.
