"Fear the man with one gun, for he knows it well." "Man with one watch, always know time. Man with two watches, never sure." Yes, I have one bass. Until I know it inside out, and I know how to play it, that should be sufficient. After that... we'll see.

Only 2, but that's much enough for a guitar player The first is a very old Squier Jazz bass that was given to me by the father of a friend around 20 years ago. The second is the HB B-550, I bought it to follow my 7 strings guitar. And unless I buy a 8 strings guitars, which is not in project, there will not be a 3rd bass.

35 total. 32 electrics, ranging from 4 to 8 strings (12 of these I designed and build myself). 2 acoustics, a 4 and a 5 string. 1 EUB, 5 string. Besides all these basses I also own 2 electric guitars. Done a new count just a few minutes ago. About two years on from my previous post the number is at 54, number 55 is on order (already for several months), the new to come HB FR PB-50. I'm building a short scale six string at he moment but this is a slow going project I've been of and on busy with it for two years now. Added two acoustics to the herd. A HB B30 NT deko (which I turned into a fantastic player) and a HB Kahuna bass (well actually..... two.... I killed the first one while changing to the wrong strings ), the other additions are all electric. Never realized I acquired this many basses over the last two years.

The double bass doesn't quite count as an acoustic bass Either it counts as two or you're exaggerating things I am half tempted by a Peavey Grind NTB 5 and half by the HBZ-2005. Someone please help me…

Someone please help me… If you plan on the Grind NTB be aware some complain of lacklustre pickups on the newer builds. The pickups are an odd size so replacements are limited. I'll Pm you after work with option.

I would not buy a modification platform and I am only looking at this particular one on ebay (made in Vietnam, serial number FNGH0010, in case that says anything). So it's mostly a matter of what "lacklustre" really means, if this is a newer one.

@leo Thunder The ebay link isn't showing on my phone. If it's the Vietnam build then I don't see the need to swap pickups. Those Vietnamese Grinds are superior to the USA Grinds.

& am currently G.A.S.sing over other HB basses... Which one(s)? I can't justify it, but I keep looking at the new "enhanced" MJ and MP in natural finish. I WON'T buy one. No

No Thinking about either a JB-75 (either SB or BK finish, but if i go SB, dunno what fretboard to choose) or the PB-50, with the idea of refinishing it...

No Oh man! i'm sorry, i haven't been back on this forum for ages! Well, i wanted either a JB75 in black or an Enhanced with the Milky finished. i got the JB75 in August for my birthday. I sanded down the gloss finish to make it matte and roadworn like the Vintage (brand) bass that has that finish. I also had to work a lot on the frets that were sticking out on both sides of the fretboard. But now it's great, has flatwound strings on it & it plays like a dream. The pick-ups sound good but they're not as hot as my other basses. Don't know exactly why.. Did U get anything? i'm still drooling over the Milky Enchanced MM/J 5-string Bass...
