I have the TE 70, TE 90 FLT, and a Tele that i've assembled with the parts of Thomann HB Tele kit. All these Tele looks and sound for me very good. I've changed nuts and tuners and installed roller trees to all my tele because I like to upgrading all the mechanic parts of the headstock when I see some problematics in intonation and in the hold of the intonation. I have also relivelled some frets especially in the TE90 while the frets and neck of TE 70 and the neck and frets of the Tele Kit and the TE 70 BP are very good just after the unboxing.

Hello everyone, I know this is a relative old thread (although less than a year since last reply) but I just got my first TE-52. I was going to get a TUSQ nut for it but have seen that some people get the PT-5000-00 (the one with the curved bottom) and others get the PT-5010-00 (the one with the flat bottom). So my question is very simple. For you peeps that did it, which one is the right one? Thanks for the help.

I have got mine two months ago. I have since then replaced the tuner keys by the Wilkinson Deluxe Vintage ones, which are pretty the same but better quality and precision. I have swapped the nut by a TUSQ black one and the string guides by button black ones (like Fender Tele Vintage ones, but in black) I polished the frets and made a complete setup (pickup height, neck relieve, intonation and string height like 1952 original Tele specs. I installed Fender original bullets strings 9-42. At the electronics level, I installed CTS pots, TAD capacitors, vintage cabling, copper shielding and Original 5 ways Fender switch to have the Bill Lawrence Telecaster Switching Options. At the bridge level, I installed brass compensated saddles by German company ABS. I find no need to replace the pops as they sound great. I have found the specs on Roswell Pickups website that confirmed me that they must stay. I have also replaced the barrel knobs by brass black ones and the switch tip by big heat one (I found a very inexpensive one at TAD. Original Fender price one is ridiculous for a piece of plastic) To end customisation I have also installed lock strap pings since I share three straps for all my guitars. At the end I have spent about €300 in total. My guitar in particular is made of two pieces of swanp Ash wood, but you need to spend a lot of time to see the joint. For I while I was thinking that I was so lucky guy getting a one piece body on a inexpensive asian Axe I would like to post some photos, but I do not find how.

A lot of people use postimage and upload photos from there. A bit of a pain but once you get use to it it's pretty quick. There are other methods but I'm not sure what? I hope you manage to work something out mruiz64 I'd like to see your guitar. There is a sticky in FAQ section with how to use postimage. Hope this helps.

I have since then replaced the tuner keys by the Wilkinson Deluxe Vintage ones, which are pretty the same but better quality and precision. Did you have to bore out the existing holes to make thsoe Wilkinson's fit? I measured my TE-52 and the hole is exactly 8mm ... these Wilkinsons say 8.75mm. I would love to find some drop-in replacements as I have an issue with the B string tuner on my TE-52.

Sorry for resurrecting on old thread here but I really wanted to push for a definitive answer on the HB TE 52 nut slot dimensions. Is there anyone here who has a newer HB TE 52 that has the nut slot dimensions? I know it's 42mm wide but it would be good to know the slot width and height as well. I'm aware with any new nut it will no doubt require some sanding to drop in, but a heads up on slot size would be great.
Also, what is the string spacing?
Thanks.

Well, I bit the bullet and bought one...it turned up today, and already I've fitted a Graphtech nut, brass saddles (highly recommended, sustain greatly improved with both nut and saddles done), and polishedthe neck a little (too satin for me). Am halfway through replacing the tuners, but they came missing some parts. What an amazing value guitar! Heavy but solid, great neck profile, and the Roswell pickups do sound remarkably good....might still swap out the pots & cap and shield it, but it's really good. One thing though, I know I have to get new strings, but all the fret tops grate against the strings (haven't replaced them yet...more D'Addarios vicar...), I tried 0000 wire wool, but I don't think it's enough, so I guess some fret dressing is in order... Which Graphtech nut did you get in the end? If unsure whether the 5000 or the 5010 would fit better. Also, what is the string spacing? Whoops! I just noticed this thread is over 6 years old. Well worth a try I guess.

I will use this topic . Does anyone knows if the neck of the TE-52 maybe fit the Thomann TE kit. My friend damaged the TE-52 body in full (don't ask me how) but the neck is ok. He doesn't want it anymore so I took the neck and would like to combine with the TE kit. I already own the TE-52 and I 'm very satisfied. I wanted to buy the TL T-Style TE kit anyway but as stated it will be available in several months but now is alternative to buy regular TE kit and put the TE-52 neck on it. Thanks in advance.

Hm... I wrote to Thomann as well and got the information that this is not possible. It doesn't fit. I will buy the tele kit anyway and if it really doesn't fit I will have another tele made by myself. As I always want to. I let you know about the result 😁. Cheers

Hi,
new member here, I bought a TE-52 a month ago or so, very pleased for the quality , astonished by the neck, never found anything closer in a cheap guitar (neither in much more expensive guitars too), couple of things to tune to my taste (sadlles, neck pickup, a little mod to the bridge pickup), other than that (weight apart , it's really heavy) an awesome guitar, I have 20 other guitars, priced from 500 and above, and this one stands up so well within the others, I still not believe

I will use this topic . Does anyone knows if the neck of the TE-52 maybe fit the Thomann TE kit. I measured the neck pocket and in my opinion it's a fender standard, I think you can use almost everything
