So, I've been thinking about another CST-24 and at the same time wondering about the Marwell range. Also German retailer, who has been quite helpful. Sadly the website is only in German at the moment but Google does an OK job on translation. One of my regrets has been letting my Epiphone Les Paul Standard PlusTop Pro go .... thing is a WELL over 4kgs it was just too uncomfortable. Then I found Epiphone do a semi-acoustic Les Paul with quite a weight reduction - called Florentine..... But of course it costs ..... Anyway by accident when on fleebay I stumbled across a link to Marwell Guitars.........and lo and behold they do a Florentine clone .... at much less then half the price of the Epiphone So I have procrastinated for a couple of weeks but finally I have placed an order for a blue one...... should be with me some time next week... If people are interested I'll give a bit of a run-down when it arrives.... but I don't want to do that if it will cause discourse on this HB forum here's a couple of their stock photos of the Gala .......

On their ebay page there is only 1 negative feedback and 990 positive that alone should be enough to think these are some great instruments for the money. They also have all hardware from Wilkinson unlike the HB which has no name stuff very often www.ebay.com/usr/edel-sound-de?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

Soon it will not be important what the headstock name is it seems that all come from the same factories indeed they all do! "world musical inst. co. ltd" in korea is building soooo much of the guitars. ltd, chapman,PRS SE,Dean, epiphone (not sure on this one) and many other brands let their guitar build in the same factories. the big companys just ORDER their guitars and the factory builds it. Anyone can do this! we could do it! rob chapman made some video in this factory showing his guitars, but you can also see some Deans there and PRS Se over there.

Okay peps ... it arrived. Sorry no video .. just a few photos .... Packaging was okay - not as good as Thomann though, but it arrived undamaged which is the important thing.. any way a few photos ..... Plays great - needed setting up of course, and the frets will need a bit of a polish and rubdown with an oily rag .... but no real worries Is it as good as an HB? Good question. Thing is Thomann don't do a lightweight semi LP and so I had no other option other than a Epiphone Florentine at c£400 ... so at 217 euros delivered I'd say it's okay.. That said it's a good job it is okay 'cause unlike Thomman I would have to pay to return it - even in the first 14 days so I took a big risk...to do so would have cost me over £30 minimum ...... Would I buy another from these guys? Only if I couldn't get what I wanted from Thomman... Like the Wilkinson tuners though and the Wilkinson pickups. Great paint finish so all in all I'm happy ..... I did pimp it a bit - changed the dials to speed dials and added the Rythm/Treble badge
