Ha! Well, I am not surprised, in fact I would say that that is a more "realistic" price and further emphasises what great value the HB one is and God knows how they do it and still make money at that price. Makes me even more happy with mine now knowing that too….!!!!

DefJef Im not sure if those frets are even medium jumbo and I dont like ceramic pups especially if trebly and these are ceramic. I am actually looking into maybe waiting until the March 15th for Thomann to restock some guitars I like and buy the Gold Top LP with P90's and maybe this very Tele and take out all electronics and pups and bin them and buy Tonerider alnico pups and that 5 way tele harness form ebay and have an awesome sounding guitar ... but am still eyeing the TE-90QM ... pondering ... Im off to Thomann again to check if any new models arrived

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

They get used again and again until somebody else needs me to play something 'beefier' or 'more sustained'. I dig out a 335 or a Les Paul or SG and do as they ask then wipe 'em down and put them away.

I have some lifeless ones in an Affinity strat that sound like a cheese grater and two gorgeous ones in my favourite white strat which match beautifully with my carefully selected Ironstone AlNiCo V neck pup. It's such a lovely guitar to play, with a floating trem that is feather light and a rather chunky, almost tele like neck. I've never thought about fret wire gauge and never notice its effect on my playing. I must pay more attention. What should I notice? I never have bends that fret out and I bend as many semi tones as my fingers can cope with. I'd love some P90s but I think I'm done with Gibsonesque guitars, they just don't suit me at all. If I ever get any P90s I'm holding out for a sonic blue tele thinline with maple fingerboard and white binding. I can see her now but she just never seems to pop up in my vicinity. A five way tele harness? What are the other two ways? Phase?

Yes phase. The frets are only for personal feel. I find the frets on my ST-20 to be too thin, I mean if I dress the frets one more time they are gone

Seriously the best is just to buy the darn guitar as soon one wants it otherwise you end up like me pondering about it and finding new solutions I now come to doubt those ceramic P90's ! I dont like cermaic pup sound so not sure if these are any different that say ceramic single coils. As defjef said with ceramics its a gamble you never know what'ya gonna get Forrest And there are only so many options to get new P90's and many many more to say replace Tele style pickups so I still have time to think about this. I am still waiting for that refund money from Thomann, should be on my bank account any day now but I think I should wait until the 15th so Thomann when Thomann will restock most of the guitars. I know for sure that I LOVE the sound of those Alnico single coil pups in ST-62 strats so maybe I should just get another color and see if it comes nicely set up and keep the thing so I can mod it with a 7 way switch at some point. Also am looking at a Tele but not sure which ... I could afford the T-57 or maximum the Rosewood tele (not sure I like the look of it tho). They both come with Alnicos so there is a big chance I will like their sound (dont have money to mod too much).

They sound really good though, I don't feel the need to complain

Thomann should check those specs or otherwise they could just do it as Fender does; Fender only writes 3 x single coil or 2 x Tele single coils and no mention of if they are alnico or ceramic. But if you put effort in describing the wood why not the most important part, the pickups which give you most of the sound
