I never had a Tele and I kind of always look at that bridge with 3 screws as an issue not helping in intonation. I mean strat had 6 individual screws to adjust intonation and Tele only 3 screws. How do you do it? Did you experience any intonation difficulties with a classic Tele style bridge?

From memory, I think you just average out the imperfections in intonation, its not perfect but I suppose that's why they changed it to individual string guides later on

I can only recommend the Wilkinson tele bridge with compensated brass saddles. I have no Intonation problems. It is even easier to set up the guitar because you just have to adjust 3 screws ☺ . It is the bridge used in the Te 70 and the New Paisley tele.

From memory, I think you just average out the imperfections in intonation, its not perfect but I suppose that's why they changed it to individual string guides later on and if you give each center screw of the saddle a bit of a bend, you can get them intonate'd as good as compensating saddles. thats how they did it in dem olden days Using the distance from the nut to the 12th fret (we’ll call this measurement “x”), measure from the 12th fret to the bridge. then add for each string the following: Low E: 3,2mm longer than X A: 1,6mm longer than X D: 0,8mm longer than X G: 3,2mm longer than X B: 1,6mm longer than X High E: 0,8mm longer than X it will resemble something like this

Not sure how people can like Fender when you need to mod it so much and it needs new pups, new tuners, new nut, new bridge, new neck, new body just kidding! Must ponder this one because I have two left hands when it comes to modding and even setting up my guitars so for me it must be as easy as possible so I can focus on playing instead (I need to get me a roadie pronto, I hope Harley Benton makes some for dirt cheap)

... Did you experience any intonation difficulties with a classic Tele style bridge? No, never. Just as I didn't notice any intonation problems with my acoustic guitars.
