Anybody got one or ever used one before? Im mainly interested in the amp and speaker emulators. The big T have them for a crazy low price but almost as much as a pb50!!

I have used them in the past. They are not bad, I wouldn't say they are great, but the do work and sound ok.
For bass amp and speaker emulators, I am a huge fan of the Zoom B3.

I've got one but have to admit to rarely using it The manual doesn't explain things clearly but luckily a fella compiled tricks & tips from the massive TB thread in one place. If you buy one I'll sent you the file. I was going to try a B3 same as JAC then realised it would be my 3rd or 4th multi-FX and I've never used any to even half potential. It's a well built bit of kit. Maybe I should look at it again.

I must admit, I don't use 10% of the B3's capabilities. I use the compressors (sometimes), maybe an eq now and again, and mainly the amp and cab sims (which I must say are brilliant on the B3).
As far as effects go, well I'm not much of an effects person. I will play around with them when I am bored, but usually (99.9% of the time) I will turn them off for recording or live playing.
Any effects for recording I usually add on the PC after I have recorded.
The thing I found with the V amp is much the same that I found with the Zoom B2, you have to spend far too much time playing with it to get the sound you want, although the final sound is decent.
The thing I most like about the B3 is that it is basically 3 stomp boxes connected together, so its very simple to set up and use (but you could still spend years trying to find everything it does).

Agree entirely my brother. Spent more trying to be creative with sounds than actually being creative. Besides my root notes only technique sounds better clean

Thanks a million for the replies. I must admit that I am a little afraid that I will spend longer trying to get the sound I'm after than actually playing but for 85 euro if I only like the reverb or one amp sim its well worth it. That b3 looks great JAC and thanks for telling me about it but it is twice the price so I did the only sensible thing and ordered the Behringer, and because im too much of a skinflint to pay for shipping I thought I'd get some flatwounds to put on my jazz bass, then I thought with the super low thomann prices I may as well get a new jazz bass to put the old strings on!! So I have a JB 75 on the way to try out the Behringer with, I did do the deacent thing and ask her indoors to pick the colour and luckily for me she choose the natural finish I wanted. If I could take up kodiakblair on his offer to send on the tips and tricks from the talk bass thread I would be very grateful, I had a look at the thread but it was soooooooo much reading I had to give up.

What a sensible decision. V-Amp, new bass and flats to try. I fully support your reasoning Sent the file to your Hmail address OK.

BZ-4000 too !! Damn fine bass. If I wasn't overloaded with active thru-neck wood finish basses I'd have kept mine
