I've been looking at these lp junior copies on the net. Does anybody know if they have a long tenon neck joint? There's no info about this in the web? The guitar get really good reviews, how long before Thomman make one?

I just got the Epiphone LP Jr. and it's quite nice except the headstock is a bit damaged. It plays very nice and smoothly and the sound is pretty good. The Epiphone has humbuckers instead of the single-coils on the Gibson. But it would be quite easy to change that I premuse.

That may be your problem if you want to change the pickups for single coils, by which I presume you mean P90s rather than strat type ones. P90s are a different shape to Gibbo humbuckers so standard ones won't just drop in. You can however find specially humbucker sized P90s that will usually fit (not dog ear ones) and that's the route I would go down because I love P90s. They won't look like soapbars though and I love the look of soapbars too! OR you could try splitting a humbucker so that it can be single coil OR you could put a pair of single coils in there like Yamaha do in some of their top end Pacificas. Whatever, it's going to sound the shizzle.

LOL thank you my friend defjef. Actually I'm just going to change the humbucker frame for a black one and leave the humbucker in there. Already ordered a frame at Thomann that's arrived today. Also ordered some golden speedknobs and it'll look quite a bit more like the Gibson (or Neil Young) one. The humbuckers actually sound pretty good to me.
I was thinking more of other people that might get the Epiphone and would want P90s in there, I'm sure they'll be happy with the info you shared! (so am I, I will now forever look at soapbars in a different way)

Just seen the Westfield e400. Solid mahogany body, set neck and dog ear p90. Has anybody else seen or played one or know anybody with one?

I've played one of these and didnt like it , the body shape is different from the regular double cut also the neck is very wide
have a look at some of the Japanese builders , Edwards, Tokai etc. you might also pick up a used one locally.

After studying the Faber kit, it looked like the bridge posts had been drilled off centre. It looked like there would be problems with lining up the strings on the neck. After considering buying a cheaper copy and then wanting to upgrade the pickups and pots etc. I decided to get the Gibson Les Paul special DC with p90's in red mahogany stain. Considering it comes with a fancy hard shell case, has the fancy robot tuning device, and the proper p90's I'm happy I made the right choice. Buying from Thomman has saved me £140 too, all the uk shops and Amazon were more expensive. Should be here by Friday.

Good choice, guydio. Enjoy your purchase. I thought these Gibson LP Jrs were more expensive, 500 euros with as you say a case and the tuning system ain't bad!
I see the guitar's now sold out. Hope you got yours in time.
