Hi dear fellow bassistas Our HB Club has a band as of late called The Bentonites and we are in desperate need of a bassist (or a few bassists). If you fancy having a good craic with us please join us in the Studio and Stage board, we welcome you!

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

I'll be right over. Flippin' marvellous, GKon . Check out the Tribes No More Track. It keeps changing but at the moment it sounds like this: soundcloud.com/defjef-973274447/tribes-no-more-2-plus-freos-bitsSeveral people are working on guitars, Theremins (yes really, what's wrong with Theremins?) from salteedog, drums and basses already but we're leaving the door very open at the moment. My latest idea as the arranger of all this stuff is to give the opening percussion a little longer for the Theremin idea to be worked out, maybe a little more of papache's rhythm guitar section too. freoguitar has played a blinding solo (with too much reverb, it is felt but he's sorting that out) which doesn't altogether pleasingly segue into a coda of papache 's rhythm guitar towards the last quarter. I thought to get a nice drum break in there to help it join or perhaps a great bass fill just there. gullum has had a crack at the drums and a bass line which I've suggested might need going back to again once our structure is more finalise so this version just has a drum loop on it at the moment. I'd love you to take a good meaty crack at the bass on this and have a listen to the join between freo's guitar solo and papache's rhythm at 2:55. I can open up a bigger crack here if you're up for a bit of a drums and bass workout there or even just a little joining fill. Please see what you can do. I'm sure the band won't be disappointed.

The question is... which bass to bring to the audition...

Bring the bass that does not need new strings! Apparently it takes ages for a bassist to change new strings (something to do with intonation and truss rod going berserk on them once they take off the old strings)
