Oddly I did go to Aliexpress and found some cheap Swan ones in A, C, G and D. I'm tempted. They have resin cores - unlike the Marine Band that had a wooden one - so they are a bit happier in water and less prone to giving you ulcers and fatal diseases! I'm tempted. What key is Neil keen on? G? A C harp would be good for that (cross harp and all that). He usually has about 10 in all of his pockets and uses the tone that the song is in, I believe.

Hi there. I have this guitar in natural finish. Great guitar, I love it. I put the piezo put, and adjusted the saddle height, and that brought the guitar to the next level. And I was extremely happy with it already. If your string misbehaves played open I think it has to be the nut, which maight be cut not so correctly. Have a look at it.

Hey raka, glad to hear you had a "good one" too! Yeah, it's probably the nut. When tuned to E standard with gauge 12 strings it's not much of a problem. I've put GHS Contact Core Bright Bronze strings on it, really sweet sounds.

GHS Contact Bright Bronze?? Are they really better than Elixir or they just fits better to this guitar. I dont know anything about GHS but I used to knew that Elixir is the best. Altough Tommy Emmanuel not useing Elixir too. He says these just does no fit to hes guitars. Btw I saw him last tuesday in Tallinn. He worth every sent I payd for the show.

I think it fits this certain guitar because the sound of it is very warm, and this brightens it up the most, the sound isn't actually particularly bright still. I never tried the Elixirs, a guy selling strings online here in Holland adviced me to the GHS strings, I also use the regular Bright Bronze, they're nice too.

So I was thinking of getting the HB CLJ-503CE NT, but they're out of the stock for the moment and the b-stock is gone too. I asked them if they could put 13-56 strings on it and tune it to D. The cost would be 35 euros. Is that fair?

It might need to be set up differently so yes I think this is a reasonable upcharge. It can be avoided with a little DIY of course

I'm New here. Also new to HB. I recently punted for my first HB. A lovely well made cld 15m. Unfortunately disappointed. Bad bow in neck. Truss rod all the way in, so impossible to play. No problems with thomann. Great service. But I'm not easy giving in. Now..I'm tempted to try again on the King. I had a epi j200. Had it for 6 weeks. Awfully flat baseless tone. Maple. I'm in all honesty wanting a gibby sound for cheap. Aren't we all. Please help me, is this j200 rip off that good. Thanks.

I was the owner of The King, it took a while and some work when I found a right set-up, but it sounds always wonderful and playability was fine after it was set up. Comparing with my friends Epi J-200 the King has far better and warmer sound. More powerful bass. Even the the playability was better.
