I'm subscribed on his Chanel for a while now. Hence me not answering here to this post.
I'm assuming folks here would like to see him post his videos since he is our member here. I'm assuming.

It's true that it has been a while since Cory was online, but I guess he is bit busy. But I still assume that some people would be interested in having a discussion about reviewed guitars here

I'm only assuming since I've also noticed no comments on Cory's vids on this forum. Maybe some folks don't prefer the Metal attitude of his vids. I dunno. To be honest I don't watch the fanfret vids because I'm not interested in them. Even demos of basses with more than 4 strings is off of my radar Also, lots of people prefer less talk more Tone like Mike Hermans does. I for example stopped watching Henning Pauli because of too much talk. If I want too much talk then it has to be someone with an energy I like. Like the new Doctor Guitar for example.

I don't really t hink that Cory makes "metal attitude" videos as of lately, he mentioned at the baritone review that he wants to hear clean tone of guitars, not just distorted, I think he does a good job covering a wide range of music styles with his reviews About Henning - he talks a lot, but I admire his "balls out, no bs" attitude that he carries in his reviews. His NAMM video with Phil X caused little bit of s**tstorm on the Youtube because of that attitude tho. Seems like video got removed due to some reasons

a review if you like it or not in the end its the personal view of the reviewer. because of the sound there after, setup, certain models of guitars, brands, material they use, mixing, ………. and its not the first time people start of in the “cheaper” brands, and then to go of in the above and beyond category. take for example PixxyLixx, who started of with reviewing chibsons and nowadays has fender specials, gibson’s, …… lets call it the more pricy range. which is his or anybody else's right to do so of course, but in the end it all start to smell a bit of commercialism and giving in to he law suits and so on. same go’s for builders. i much prefer watching this guy, than that guy. with the first person even if its a short video its about building to the last second. while if the latter goes in to one of his many rambling video's, its from the beginning to -2M form the end of “look at me, look at me, look at me with a giant stain on my head. at -1M its “look at me, look at me, look at me with a peace of wood in my hands”. and at -0,30 “thats all we have time for today”. and most importantly its "Youtube" with the drama, the how many views, the if i get xxxx subscribers ill do this, the clickbait,..... which pretty much sums it up. ps.i don not condone or indorse the mentioned people, nor do a get any financial benefit form doing so.

My personal hate(s) are:
1) Guitar reviewers that only play 'shredding' with no clean sounds - it's like the guitarist is showing off his dexterity to impress the viewers. I really want to hear all the various tones a guitar can produce.
2) Builders (particulary That Guy on Tarn's post), and other reviewers that slate 'cheap' guitars and then go on to either show how bad it's been built or show how great a superior guitar is built. I always think it's like comparing a family car with a Ferrari.

I always think it's like comparing a family car with a Ferrari. 1: I agree 100%. Some songs I (try to) play ask just a touch of overdrive, but for the rest I mostly play clean. Also the sound is very difficult to compare on amp X if you got amp Y with microphone X and Y with setting X and Y. YouTube really is not a good medium to compare sound. 2: it is not fair to compare high end guitars with budget guitars. But I have more problems with people that pretend that their budget guitar is of a better quality than guitar X or Y. Don't get me wrong, some budget guitars are great players. Some look fantastic, but I've seen a lot of claims (some on this forum) that are so over the top, that it becomes ridiculous too. I have more than a dozen Squier telecasters, a few Fenders and (since yesterday) 2 Harley Bentons (I had a TE-30 and got a TE-70 in a trade). Neither of them comes even close to my cheapest Squier (which - new - still costs about 35% more than the TE-70) in build quality/parts quality. Soundwise one of them is a lot better than I expected, the other a lot worse. (For my taste, my style of playing, ...). With a good setup both are good players, but not the miracles some people claim them to be.

I have to agree with all you say. I usually play with some reverb and sometimes with a touch of overdrive.
Sometime ago I bought a very cheap Yamaha Pacifica. The switch was only engaging sometimes and the paintwork was chipped, but otherwise it was OK. I did a repaint, put in new pots and a switch, replaced the pickups with some Wilkinson (or Vanson - I can't remember exactly) Alnico 57's, and the tremelo with a Wilkinson trem with a steel block. It's now my favourite guitar for old style Rock and Roll for a real budget price. It is a pretty good player too and sounds very vintage. I wish I had done a better paint job though!
Sorry, I've just done what you said about owners over estimating their budget guitars! But it's just me being a 'proud owner'.

There's nothing wrong with being a proud owner. As long as you know that your family car is not and will never be a Ferrari. It might be a good family car, though. It might last longer, you will have more miles/gallon or km/l. You might have a lot more fun in your family car (ever seen the back seat of a Ferrari? ). In many cases the family car is the right choice... But deep in our hearts we all want that Ferrari (or whatever your dream car might be), or at least drive one at least once, right? Thank God we have family cars...

Ehm, nicod have you ever played the TE-90QM P90 guitar? I have it. It was perfect from the box. All I needed to do was oil the fretboard and polish frets. Now show me the same guitar in Squire or Fender and tell me the price? I dare to say I've got a Ferrari for family car money But sure HB can have QC issues

I like Cory's reviews, I like the laid back attitude, same with Nick in the States. I'd sooner see who's doing the review not just a product shot and for me they give enough info without being opinionated and in your face. I'm OK with Pixxylix (spell) too,
