Hey, I ordered a set of Vanson locking tuners, and while waiting for that to arrive, I need to decide what pickups to put on my Squier strat that i'm modifying. I love using pedals (mostly wah, and fuzz with an octave pedal) but I also enjoy a good clean strat sound. So far I only found a demo of the Vanson Vintage Pro Alnico5 pick ups, and they sounded beyond amazing ! But since I also saw the other Wilkinson sets on the Vanson guitar shop, I thought I'd ask you about them because if they are quite the same I could save some money for other upgrades. Thanks !

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, try Ironstone Pickups in Leicestershire - or is it Rutland again? Tony Partridge, who set it up, knows his stuff and is always tinkering away at new projects. He's a true gent who gives his time to you and replies to emails (although, I note from his website that he appears to be on holiday at the moment. Good for him). I was lucky enough, just through showing some interest in a new project he was developing, to receive a free set of vintage wound Jazz bass pickups and a dummy coil one to bury in my bass body. He also matched the polarity and winding for a strat neck pickup for me when I wanted to swap it from ceramic to alnico (and bunged in a selection of covers for free). And his prices seem to be as good as anywhere in the UK and although he sources his suppliers from South Korea all the winding is done to his spec and he finishes them at his UK base. Just saying, I've never had a reason to turn against him.

Well I still have time to paint the guitar and let's not forget that the postage services in Morocco are so damns slow But once I finish this guitar, I'll modify a TE20 and now I know where to get my pickups
