The M5 is really good imo, did you go for an expression pedal too? Nope just the main pedal, no expressions for me thanks I get confused even when needing to engage a delay pedal and then switch it off let alone controlling expression pedals Im more of a set up and play lad!

Yep this demo makes Zoom sound every bit as crapacious as I remember. Hard to believe that, in 20 years, nobody at Zoom has ever listened to one. Not great alright. But with digital, there's a big difference between the later 24bit 44.1kHz stuff and those older units (the GFX5 is 20bit 30kHz) As I said, I'm no great fan of digital amp sims and distortions but I do really like the delays, reverbs and choruses on my Zoom pedals.

I’d try to pick up a 2nd hand one if you can, it really opens up some possibilities with the pedal, you can set the expression to change any or multiple parameters of a single effect. Still, it has tap tempo, and the tuner is really good imo.

Incidentally I had Chedapapa as a guest on a quick visit from Denmark last weekend. The Katana came in useful but didn't really butter his parsnips when compared with my Fender Champ. But, by all accounts, he was even more happy to get back to his Bugera!
I actually liked your Katana, for every day noodling and for chasing ideas its brilliant. But there is no "sonic experience" there to be found, no magic to lift you up. The Champ has sweetness to it when clean but when OD-ed with my CKK Lunar Drive it just didn't want to purr like a cat which my Bugera V55 readily do I guess those pre-amp tubes sure have a reason to be there!
BTW, I enjoyed the visit big time! And loved playing that P90 Thinline Tele of yours!

Oh mate you don't know the Danish 2nd hand market; there was a lad who sold his Line 6 M5 and asked for more money than its been sold by Gear4Music. I told him that and still he didn't put the price down! Danes love their money, why do you think their system works this well Seriously the older version of Hall of Fame by TC is being sold for almost as much as the new one cost on Gear4Music (which btw is becoming cheaper than Thomann and is not out of stock as much as Thomann is as of late).

As I said, I'm no great fan of digital amp sims and distortions You should try a Digitech RP series modelling pedals especially on Fender amps settings Check out this Bassman '59 sim with its 4x10 Jensen cab. I played this direct into my audio interface. The OD's and Distortions/Fuzzes are crap on these RP units but the amp sims and cab sims are just fantastic!

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

Yep, pre amp tubes are under discussed. Folks bang on about 6V6s and EL84s but the heavy lifting is done at the front end and how much you drive them before you get to the power stage. After all your Bugera and my Champ share 6L6s. But whereas yours is all tube my solid state preamp has no intention of being overdriven. Maybe I'll get round to a mod one day (I won't, I'm just saying this for dramatic licence) to make the drive channel less teeth grating and more pretty and constructive.

Didn't realise you actually decided to buy it. Hate to say it but it sounds like what I expected. Probably worth a gamble especially if you can return it.
