I found time to make a short amateur video. Sorry for the poor sound quality (canon camera) and apologies for my clumsy playing Im a relative beginner (paperbag) This amp sounds really great I mean the 12" speaker gives it a huge sound and the amp is made to sound like a tube amp on Max Drive. I will try and do a clean sound video soon. No pedals used only the on board Reverb which also sounds great. Gain on max and Volume on only 2 this thing is way to loud to go all the way on volume. When on clean sound its not that loud but boy does it make your ears ring when Max Drive is engaged

Cheers mate! Not the best sound nor best playing but wanted to contribute to the forum a bit. The more we post videos the interactive and real this forum club will be. Of course what you guys post seems much better recorded and also all your playing here is very fine indeed. I hope to learn here how to record better. I think I need some sort of a program for my computer no? On top of this I also wanted to make a video about this amazing 20 watts amp which comes with a 12" speaker and it sounds really good (my video doesnt do it justice tho). There is not even one video about it on you tube so I thought why not make one. Im still trying to fugure out this amp. I cant find the right sound when playing throuhg the Digitech multi pedal but Im sure I will find the right EQ. Sound is fine only the EQ is to be properly adjusted. This will take some time for my untrained ear. At least I hear what doesnt sound right for me. After playing for a year or longer on the Harley Benton CG15 amp which comes with a tiny 6,5" inch speaker this 12" sounds like a refrshing monster so cool. Especially happy with it because it is less popular than Vox yet the Vox VT20+ sounded crap to my ears. I mean it was all cleaver and all but for me its down to the basic sound and that I couldn't find. If you need a practice amp which has great cleans and great tube-like overdrive with full 12" sound and can be played fine quiet and loud, this is a great amp indeed and I am finicky I think I will buy either the HB Ultimate Drive or the HB Vintage Overdrive to boost the amps Max Overdirve some more. Will do a video once thats happened.

And here is a video with clean channel on both low gain and gain all the way up (no pedals used). This amp can get even cleaner if I had taken the guitar volume down but I missed to do it for this video. The buzzing in this video comes from the cheap camera mic

One question for you If Im to drive this amps Max Drive even more into the High Gain realm what HB pedal do I use? I asked Henning Pauli and he suggested the Vintage Overdrive but the Ultimate Drive also sounds cool. Any ideas about other low cost good quality overdrives which get close to the Mesa Boogie sound territory? I dont think this amp works well with my Digitech multi pedal, the sound is ok but not the best. This amp sounds best on its own and maybe some single pedals. Maybe its not compatible with digital pedals?

if it would be a tube amp i would suggest a tubescreamer or booster. but i cannot give you an advise on an solidstate amp.but the first thing I would try… tubescreamer even though there are no tubes .need to look for the name of the hb one edit: im with henning on this one.its the vintage overdrive (tubescreamer clone)

Thanks man! After fiddling some more with the Digitech RP70 pedal I have found a sweet sound on the Mesa Boogie setting, a bit of compression and a bit of noise gate, some reverb and man it sounds great now (drool) I have to fiddle some more with the 3 band EQ on the amp to find the perfect spot which works for all 3 switch pickup positions. When the neck sound great the bridge sound too trebly and the other way around if the bridge sounds good the neck can sound boomy. But Im getting there soon enough. Will post a short video featuring the Digitech RP70 its drum machine, L-450+ and the Kustom amp. The only thing is I need to learn some new tunes to play so not to repeat my self (paperbag) ah being and amateur is not easy

im currently uploading the "how to setup a electric guitar" video. Maybe the part where i talk about the pickups will help you with this.
I repeat myself all the time...so dont worry. Its more about the sound.

Ok so if my bridge pickup sounds ok but neck a bit dark/dull, should I go closer to the strings or away from them to brighten it up?

Ok so if my bridge pickup sounds ok but neck a bit dark/dull, should I go closer to the strings or away from them to brighten it up? you cannot brighten a pickup up with lowering it. lowering will only change the volume and compression and open the sound up a little bit. it works the other way around. you adjust the sound of your to the neck pickup and dial in the sound of the bridge pickup by its tone and volume control. especially on les pauls (where neck pickups sound almost always muddy) experienced players tend to pick differently...nearer the bridge...so you get more highs and less lows. In my HB l450+ Vid i got my amp settings with a lot of treble and presence and constantly changing the sound with the volume and tone control. the neck pickup sounds great (lots of treble on the amp) and the bridge pickup will start to ring in you ears immediately if i wouldnt adjust it with the tone control.... let joe explain you how the les paul works...its a great video...keep attention to the lots of treble he got on his amp. but if youfind yourself still unsatisfied try this... I did it a lot on customer guitars and myselfs, its easy, costs almost nothing and is very effective: Its a common mod for neck hums. www.seymourduncan.com/blog/tips-and-tricks/mod-squad-muddy-sounding-neck-pickup/

Nice tip, cheers. Yes I tried that to lower the Tone on the bridge, keep max Tone on the neck and a bit more trebley amp that works fine. Ok so I now have to learn another thing and that is to work with the guitar knobs too But you are right, the bridge pup does ring in the ears in the neck pup sounds good on the amps treble. Will work on that.

every guitar got its own charakter and flaws and things you have to learn and love about. I saw an interview with thomas blug about his Fender strat.
He said sth like this: "its not the best guitar and it got many flaws and things i have to fight with. But after all the time and hours of playing i know every flaw from the in- and outside and learned to make it part of my sound."
