They do look very nice. I also noticed they added a place holder for a new LP Gold Top P90

Yes they did but its a new SC 450 P90 model and is not going to look like the Gibson copy. I think Gibson told them not to copy anymore and to change the looks so thats what they are doing. I just asked Thomann about it and they said;

Yes but you can't Heavy Metal on it, ... or can you? (drool) Not unless you really like feedback . The BigTone feeds back whenever you dial in any amount of high gain. And not pleasant feedback that you can control from the strings, but nasty self-oscillation of the body itself. I've been told on aother forum that this is all part of the charm and appeal of a hollow body guitar, and that with practice you can control the feedback and use it creatively. I've never been able to that yet. So my BigTone gets used exclusively for clean sounds, mostly Chet/Travis style country picking (a style which I'm currently learning). It's also excellent for blues & jazz. In case anyone missed the original thread about the BigTone, it can be found here along with a short review by myself. I'm still happy I bought the BigTone. With the rubbish scratchplate removed, it looks fantastic. But it doesn't get played as much as it should, partly because it's so massive (with a bigger body than even the largest Gretsch) and also because the pickups are too warm for my taste. Even thought the guitar LOOKS like a Gretsch, it SOUNDS like a jazz archtop.

My bother has an original Gretsch from 60's or 70's and I've always liked the look of it and that HB white looks a wet dream to me. so maybe it's on one of my next orders from thomann

Im guessing this guitar will be sold very fast and might take long time till it comes back in stock again. Last time it came it was gone in no time and went missing for quiet some time. I was stupid not to buy the L-450 gold top P90 which was a Gibson copy. This new one will be the shape of a Vintage, so I was too late on that one. In this case Gretch might ask about copy right as did Gibson likely ask Thomann to change the LP design on theirs. Same could happen with Teles and Strats too, but we will see I guess.

I was stupid not to buy the L-450 gold top P90 which was a Gibson copy. I feel your pain. I really like the new Harley Benton LP shape, but for the Gold Top P90 I would have preferred the old style Gibson shape.
