DefJef - there is hope yet - what a tune! I always wanted to be cremated and suggested Kasabian's "Fire" to accompany it but maybe "Funeral Pyre" is even more apt given my Jam love affair? A bit morbid for Christmas time? Yes we are channeling our inner acoustic vibe thingys so Che gets a cracker!

Do you own/have you played a Taylor GS Mini? Looks remarkably similar. I've played a couple and wasn't that impressed for £650 - these HBs look almost identical for 6 times less... Hey Guys! I'm fairly awful at this, posting on boards craic, but I'll get the hang of it! dodger I've played the Taylor GS mini in a few guitar shops and as you say, I wasn't that impressed because they were so expensive. It may be new instrument love (I'm sure you guys have a word for that here) but I'd say it actually measures up quite well. @chedapapa Excellent that you ordered it, be sure to update me, we can have a GS-Travel-E jam salteedog thanks man! I'm not really too great on the guitar yet but I'm trying to learn my theory and actually get my head down and practice, so hopefully I'll get a lot better. Ps. Do any of you guys have Youtube channels or anything, I'd love to check out some of your playing. Cheers!

Yeah sixmonthssleep - I know it's a clip on youtube recorded with what looks like a nice condenser mic but your guitar sounds much better than any Taylor GS Mini I played in local shops. Nice playing too btw. There are a couple of videos of my 2 piece on the forum somewhere where I'm playing my CLD41SE. I've had it nearly 2 years and it's an amazing guitar. DefJef - glad you clarified it was food the ex was talking about

It arrived today! Here are some pics; next pic shows a dent in the neck and this one shows a strange cut in the neck heel but only from one side of the heel. There is also some kind of filler in the small gap on the underside of the heel-body connection. From inside the body all looks ok to my eye and there is no tuning instability meaning the neck is not moving in the body-neck connection (whatever thats called). I see this all to be more of a cosmetic issue because it does not effect the playability. This guitar has strange and annoying frequency when normally tuned to E. But when tuned half step down frequencies got more pleasant! Which is good! The Harley Benton strings seem very fresh and sound ok but this freq issue could also be their quality. Will judge in a week and maybe give this guitar the Martin 10' bronze 80-20 to see if I get a better tone. All in all a very projecting guitar when playing open chords! Not so when playing solo stuff! The nut is cut beautifully and the compensated bridge has perfect intonation! No fret buzz but sharp fret edges and frets need moderate polishing (still very much playable). String action 2,5 mm on low E and 2 on high e (12th fret) Tuners hold in tune well and are solid but the pegs are made of plastic. Mahogani and Spruce look very nice indeed! I will need to get used to the V shape neck (never played those) Still to put the pickup through its paces to hear if its usable. Not sure after the first attempt but will judge in a week. I need a "family guitar" and this one seems perfect for it! Small but with a big enough sound. Will do for children songs etc ... )

Frequency issue ONLY with this one! The other acoustic guitars had bad sustain that increased with tuning down the guitar. Also on the HB35Plus and St-90sa there was bad sustain above the 12th fret but that I feel was due to neck being made of a soft wood or the truss rod cavity was maybe routed too large sucking up vibrations. This guitar had annoying frequency which went away by tunning down half step. Maybe it's the strings? Not sure but now sounds good to my ears. I care little about small imperfections on such cheap instruments. I'm stunned by the fret work! Playable out of the box. Sure needs some polishing and maybe rounding the fret ends to remove that slight sharpness but that's it. You get much for you money here! And there is the 3 year warranty too Im pleased! Seriously though, the nut is cut so well and the intonation is spot on. Unplug and play or was it plug and play ? Or both ?

I find acoustic guitars so uninspiring they can sound good but they just don't do it for me at all. Must have one though as I promised my wife to learn a few children songs for our boy. If not for that reason I would stay far away from acoustic guitars. I feel better now that I have shared this with ya all.

I guess you have to be very good at finger style playing and having a very good chord knowledge to fill up all the gaps that electric guitar playing can fill with effects and tweaked tone etc ... Being a crap guitar player without wish to practice much, the electric guitar suits me perfectly With it I can fake until the end of time

I quite like the empty shizz that an acoustic with lots of reverb or delay can conjure up. Oh and I love that cheapo goldfoil pup on my acoustic for swampy slide stuff.
