Apropos V shape neck, I'm not sure I will much enjoy playing it. I never played such shape and it sure feels strange and rather uncomfortable. Hm ... will have to decide if I can live with it ... it doesn't seem to help when playing chords. Hm ...

It should help if you are a 'thumb-over' barre chord player.

I'm the opposite - I love the sound of a good acoustic and electric leaves me a bit cold (especially heavy effects Edge-type stuff - love Bill Bailey's impression).

I swing both ways. I play electric more because it's a little more 'forgiving' and ergonomically better for couch playing. (But unlike DefJef I rarely play it unplugged given I've amps in 3 or 4 rooms of the house.) I would like a smaller acoustic guitar though - maybe a parlour. Unfortunately Thomann's lefty acoustic offering are quite limited but I have been tempted by the CLP-15ME.

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

I sometimes have to play my mate's bowl back Ovation and that has a V neck. I quite like it...much more than the bowl back which I swear I am going to have to kick a knee grabbing notch into pretty soon if it is going to sit properly on my lap again.

One thing to do before I decide whether to keep this V shape guitar or not! I will change the strings tonight to Martin 10' Bronze 80/20 which should give a bright sound. These HB stock strings might just be crap for reviewing this guitar! They might be also behind that annoying frequency!
Will update accordingly!

Strings changed and the end result is obvious! HB strings suck big time! FULL STOP! That said, the Martin Extra Light 10 (80/20 Bronze) sound well balanced and have a fine zing to it It sure suits this guitar very well! Im keeping this one but am not sure how this Pine bridge will do with time. I see strings already cutting into it a lot! The Pine fretboard also looks very rough but hey that is Pine wood right there, for those who worked with it will know Blackwood me a r s ! Im staying away from it! Will stick to normal blond Maple and the Roseacer on my future HBs ! Any whooooo, I polished the frets and they feel much better now when doing bends.

Now with Martin strings this guitar sings beautifully! Played it for an hour and it feels great! Fantastic guitar even if it came with that gap in the heel. With 3 years warranty I worry not. From now on Martin 80/20 Bronze for me, cheap and awesome! Can't believe what difference these strings made! HUGE!

Speaking of strings and zing I was reading about Lowden guitars (of course the best guitars are made in Ireland!) and they put elixirs on their guitars. If they're going on a £4k guitar then they are going on my HBs. Expensive but zingy and last longy! I have thm on my HB CLD41se and it has never sounded better

I wonder if my ex-CLA-15 would have sounded better with Bronze 80/20. That one came with good sounding D'addarios which sure were ok and sounded best to my ear when I tuned down half to a whole step. They kind of loose the rigid tension a bit and vibrate longer. Now these Martin 10's Bronze dont have that rigid feel when I pluck them as phosphor-bronze seems to have and even with normal tuning they feel softer than the HB 10's that came with this traveler guitar. Sure deal! Strings are VERY important on an acoustic guitar! World of difference sais I

+1 on SoundOnSound This is interesting:- "You can even tape two picks together around a dime or a nickel so you actually get two plucks on a string." Now to go find a dime or nickel....
