Ordered a Harley Benton FV-430 BK Classic to mod. I have a pair of Seymour Duncan SH-10 and TB-10 to put in it. I also ordered Black tune-o-magic bridge and locking tuners so really looking forward to getting a early Metallica locking/sounding guitar, that shape of V guitar is what I always wanted. Haven't decided yet if I will replace all the electronic will see first how it sounds.

I might buy the EX-76, and those two are pretty much the same. Good luck with the modding.

I will do that. The bridge and tuners are ordered from china so it will take at least a month before I have them but guitar should be here some time next week, disadvantage of living in the middle of nowhere have to wait for everything

I haven't even gotten the FV-430 yet and I already have plans for my next project Take out the active Pickups and replace them with passive EMG's and add 1 volume and 1 tone knob and use the battery space to place the switch

So I got the Guitar today and gonna give my first impression on it.
Looks: It looks even better then I was hoping for there is nothing on the guitar that makes it look cheep except for maybe the pickups, looks a bit to plastic like. maybe it's only because all my other guitars with this kind of humbuckers have a effused surface.
Feel: It's not as heavy as my L-450 + but heavier then my R-458 it's well balance when you it stays in the position and doesn't move. Action is set ok could be a bit lower. it's really good to play on, The frets are nice and no sharp edges on this guitar. intonation was almost perfect only d string was a tiny bit sharp.
Qualety: the built is super, Tuners seam to be very good. the Bridge looks like it similar to the one on my L450+ the only bad thing is the switch it sits really loose and feels like it could break any moment.
Sound: Clean sound is quite nice but the pickups lack on gain, when adding some overdrive or distortion they don't deliver the metal sound I was hoping for, even the L-450 + delivers more metal tone, and it's the less metal sounding guitar of all of my guitars.
So my conclusion is if you want a Metal sounding Guitar, this might not be it, but for rock or hard rock it can do a decent job. By replacing only the pickups you should be getting a really good guitar, but I'd also get a new switch . I will be replacing all of the Hardware I bought it only for it's shape anyway. So now I just need to wait for the hardware to come then I can finish the guitar and set it up properly.

Although I yesterday thought the pickups didn't deliver the amount of gain to get a real metal distortion. I just couldn't stop playing this guitar and after some EQing I managed to get a nice metal sound, not the pumping sound but more like early Metallica sound. I totally love to play on this guitar. the feel of the neck is just amazing

At first I also thought that my new SC550 was not that good for "nirvana sound" but after tweaking EQ and the FX pedal I managed to get a good grunge sound. It just takes time to get used to the new guitar. All guitars have their own personalities it seems. I hope to see a review soon I might do a quick review of my SC550 today. I was waiting for NAppel to post his review first but he is busy renovating his house so I just might give you a small sonic taste before he makes a better quality video.

just couldn't wait for the rest of the hardware to arrive and had to place the pickups in the guitar And boy do they sound better then the stock once can't wait to get all the electronics replaced too, the stock electronic look really cheep and it don't even say what power they are. I did order a black pick guard but I'm probable keeping the with on it as it looks more original.

Seymour Duncan SH-10 and TB-10 and what I've read they are in quite a few Metal guitars and I went to thomann.de last night and ordered the CST24 BK so the EX-84 will need to wait a little longer.
