My L-1000 VB Progressive Line has arrived First impressions are very good, it looks fantastic and as far as I can see there are no cosmetic issues at all. The setup is very good (it could be played right out of the box with nothing more than a quick tune). The frets are well finished with minimal buzz, bends feel nice and clean with no scraping on the frets. The soft satin finish feels really nice and fast on the neck, and the comfort cut on the back of the body is great. The fretboard could do with a little oil but I'm happy for the moment to leave it, the action also could drop a little but it's fine where it is for now. In fact for the 1st time ever I'm not even going change the strings right away, I'll let it settle and play for a few days first. Really very pleased with it. The HBZ pickups from the quick play I've had sound nice, there are plenty of ways to remove the hiss for me Via Guitar Rig so I guess I'll be tinkering with that today In summary, I hit the Harley Benton jackpot It's another £100 guitar that feels like a £300 one, it's a quality bit of kit and it will be my metal axe of choice from now on. Finally a shot of the L-1000 in its new home

sexy it is!! Is there much Hiss and noise from the HBZs? i heard from some people their L-1000s had no noise problems and they didnt need my solution. so i wondered if they have got a "new series" or something with better pups... again thomann...we need serial numbers!!!!!

Cheers, very happy with the guitar. The hiss isn't too bad, it is less (from memory) than the EX-84 I briefly had so maybe they are newer versions. The more I play the L-1000 the more I really like the soft satin finish on the neck, it feels really fast to play.

Would be great to hear it at some stage if you have recording possibilities Before I bought my SC550 I was considering to maybe buy a L-1000 black or the S-600 instead. I would love to try that one out
