Hey,
First post after a bit of lurking in the shadows. I'm looking to add a semi acoustic to my collection similar to Jack Whites 1950s Kay archtop. Specifically aiming to recreate some of his blues slide sounds.
I found one post about the Custom Manhattan Standard but it got a bit political and didn't get to the guitar in detail!
Has anyone got personal experience with this guitar and how it sounds plays? Or any thoughts on the other semi acoustics in the HB catalogue - they're all quite tempting (and so damn cheap!)
Cheers, J

I think Kay's body is wider and Manhattan is more like Epiphone Century, but I might be wrong.

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

Cheers, J You'll need this essential piece of equipment for the the full Jack White Kay tone justvisiting . I think the guitar looks lovely, by the way, without it. Possibly a pity that they put a ceramic magnet in the minihumbucker but you could always experiment with swapping it out for different Alnico strengths.

Ha! The craft look is very in, would it work with string, strings?
I always assumed the paper was to cover the f holes to address the feedback issues of a semi acoustic, but more recent pics of Jack's Kay looks like the holes have been cut through the paper.
I assume he's covering up some poorly chosen band stickers or something!
