Hey guys, I searched the forum to see if anybody else had posted about this but didn't find anything. Why am I telling you this, you ask, because I hate it when I've overlooked an answer already posted to the question I have...
Ok, I just received my new Harley Benton TE70-RW tele copy with the false rosewood veneer and I have 2 questions about it:
1. Do they always arrive with just nasty as heck fretboards?
My fretboard is disgustingly dirty. The guitar arrived with brand new strings and the thing is just a beauty. The fit and finish of the guitar is great except that after a quick tune of the strings and 5 minutes of strumming and picking my fingers were just COVERED with nasty dirt or stain or something...
2. If you know what I'm talking about with the dirty fretboard... What do YOU use to clean up your guitar?
I have some Fender guitar polish that I've always used and it is a great product. I'm the kind of guy who cleans his guitars immediately after playing and for whatever reason I'm also the kind of guitarist whose hands just ooze a corrosive funk out of them and onto the fretboard after playing 10 minutes or more. I just kill new string sets quickly because of the sweat/dirty/funk that my hands make when I play.
I love the guitar. It's a fantastic value for what I paid. I'm really disappointed with the dirty neck though. I have never EVER bought any guitar that had such a nasty neck on it, brand new, out of the box.
I just need to know what others recommend for cleaning this junk off my guitar because that's the only issue there is with it.
Thanks, in advance, for sharing any thoughts/comments on this.
PEACE!
