Fulltone pedals are expensive, there’s no two ways about it. But I got myself a “Soul Bender” cosmetic blem as a birthday present, even after shipping and import duty it’s cheaper than buying one here.
I can’t see any blemishes on it anywhere!

What does it sound like? Is it good? What can you do with it?

I didn’t actually get around to trying it out today, I’ll have a go at describing it tomorrow.

It’s a fuzz, clone of the Tone Bender. I’m totally pooped today, all I’ve managed to do so far is sleep!

It’s the best fuzz pedal I have ever used. It has a lot of volume on tap and responds to different pickups really well. The tone control should be labelled something else imo it doesn’t work the same way as other tone controls I have used. The fuzz is really thick, even at lower settings, but it’s just such a great fuzz tone. I don’t have a proper power supply for it, it requires a positive centre pin and all mine are negative so I will have to use batteries for the foreseeable future but that doesn’t bother me too much.
Very happy with the purchase, never going to sell or part ex this one.

Such fat fuzz will work wonders with Goldfoil pups!

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

I have a stockpile of 9V batteries I got as free gifts from various things, should keep me going for quite a while.

Fuzz sounds best with batteries anyway. You might find the fuzz box not sounding as good with a power supply (Josh Smith). If I ever get a fuzz it will be powered with 9V batteries.

Phillip McKnight did a YT once comparing the sound of a pedal with a power supply, modern batteries and zinc carbon batteries, it did have variations in sound. EHX sell zinc carbon batteries cheaper than the danelectro ones too. For me I just prefer having a PSU so I don’t have to faff about too much. I’m not a recording artist or in a band or anything and I can live with the differences in sound. I do desire some equipment that I shouldn’t really buy though.

Not audiences though. They can't tell a power supply from a pork pie. Oh please, who cares about what audience wants anyway! Its my art, its me who is the prime enjoyer! My tone is for me only and if someone likes it the better and if not, well also good I guess. I have seen some vids reviewing a pedal that simulates old batteries. Will try and find it. Fuzz pedals need so little current anyway.

@chedapapa there are quite a few fuzzes with a "Bias" control to get that gated dying battery sound. The fuzz hound I had had one, the Conquistador pedal by way huge doesn't have a bias control but does do the gated sound and there is the earthquaker devices Erupter fuzz just off the top of my head.
