Alright, I have money. Enough for an HB. I was thinking about to buy the RG Mini, but I'm 6'2" and still growing, so...no. I like to play rock, hard rock, all sorts of metal, blues rock, blues, etc. Mostly metal. Any suggestions?
I like and consider: FV-430 TE-30 WL-20 L-400/SC-400 EX-76
Please help me choose from these, as I can never choose.
P.S. Like I said on the forum, I was considering bass. I am not anymore, I decided to focus more on guitar because I want to become as good as possible. (angel)

I have the FV-430 and EX-76 and L-450. the WL-20 should be very much like FV430 and EX-76 and both of these are good for metal the L-400 and CS-400 should be similar to L-450 and IMO it is more a rock, Hard Rock guitar the a pure metal guitar. I do not know about the TE-30 as I have no single coil guitars

What happened to your ST-20 ? Did you like the single coil sounds? For me the single coils sounded too harsh so i chose to go with humbuckers and Im happy I did, now Im much closer to "my sound". I also must say that thanks to my Digitech RP70 multi processor I now have a large pallet of different sounds to choose from and this alone makes me play a lot. When I only had an amp and a guitar I wouldn't pick it up that often. Because its ALL about the Sound you like.
For me its also important that the guitar looks awesome to my eyes. Like this as soon I see it I want to grab it immediately so I play often even just for short but I play it every day for at least 10 minutes because its awesome and thanks to the humbuckers and the RP70 I can melt in joy when I play it.
So it is of the utmost importance you IMO, to go with these 2 factors: 1. Sound 2. Looks

I use it for Black Keys and stuff, because they sound pretty dirty. So I like my ST. It looks and sounds cool, just like my RX-10. But anyway... I like the looks of almost every guitar, that's my problem! And every guitar has its use for a certain style of music. But I like a lot of genres, so yeah... It's hard. First world problems much!

My top contenders now are.... EX-76 SC-400 (but Gold Top or Satin Black? Tough choice) Why? I want a humbuckered guitar with lower output than my RX-10, that's why. And because I love the shapes. I was hoping everyone's favourite guitar-crazed beekeeper could tell me what the new "SC" shape is like...?

im personally am not a fan of the sc shape… but its the way i play. i play with my thumb on the neck,so the new angled heel makes the playability not better on the higher frets. Soundwise the Sc 550 could be the one perfect for you. blues, metal… everything works very good.
you should check my review. cant link it here from my mobile. you can find it here on the forum.
if you hadnt mentioned the sc i would have said "take the ex76" didnt have it yet,but from everything i heard its a nice guitar for every style

Alright, these questions could be helpful:
Which has the fastest neck?
Which has the best high fret access?
Which has the least sticky neck?
Which makes for the best firewood?

Buzz to you I love the SC shape. The neck profile feels like the D-shape and the neck on my L-450 feels like a C-shape. I dont notice this when playing though. But I had the fortune of not testing so many guitars as NAppel so have no comparisons really The SC neck is lacquered so can be a bit sticky but that is not an issue for me and can be remedied by sanding the lacker off (so I've heard). The SC 550 has very hot humbuckers in my opinion and sometimes need taming with the volume and tone knobs. Not so with the lower gain L450 pups. But these SC550 can deliver very well squealing sounds must say. I dont know much about the SC400 but those might have ceramic pups also.

At the moment, the EX-76 is my ehm... preferred weapon of choice? This thanks to the thread by Gullum, his pictures almost convinced me. Not quite enough though.

Afraid the EX-76 isn't gonna be ordered. My phone has died on me, so I need the money for a new one

feel really sorry for you I could easily live with an old Nokia 3310 but I have an iPhone only because I'm suffering from hearing loss (guitar players in metal bands should get ear pops white every guitar purchase) and it's the only phone that I've had in a long time that can wake me up in the morning. But hopefully the EX-76 can be ordered later but not to much later
