My L-450plus started sounding strange, not that good any more. I tries to tweak the EQ on both my amp and on my multi FX pedal but to no avail. I was so crushed because it sounded great before and I began only playing my SC-550 because of that. Then I realized that the SC-550 has brand new D'addarios and the L450 has old ones. New strings made such a difference and the guitar became alive again, was like when I just bought it As I mentioned before I played acoustic most of my life and older strings didn't cause much fuss for me but electric guitar sure sounds totally different with new and with old strings. Dumb stuff I know but Im learning new stuff all the time since I started walking down the road of electric guitar playing.

Yeah...Producers say guitar strings only sound good for the first 4 weeks and then lose their magic abilities of music making. And that you should change them every month or so. But I'm too cheap for that, so I haven't changed strings on my RX-10 since my birthday. Which is now about 4 months ago. Same goes for the ST-20... (angel)

I bought this L-450+ in February 2015 and now is August so ... what?! 7 month old strings, no wonder the guitar was sounding crap. Im also on the cheap side so most definitely not changing strings every 4 weeks. Maybe every 4-5 month with my amount of playing

It's just that the strings have an expiration date. Kinda.
