Just got a reply from Thomann! Instead of giving me a discount for me fixing what they should have fixed, they say I have lost my 3 year warranty because I unscrewed the neck! Thats it folks! They certainly lost me as customer!!! I did told them that this neck has screws as does the truss rod, saddles, tremolo claw, its part of adjusting the guitar! I sure will not send the guitar back to them if I need to intonate my guitar with a few screws! Be careful next time you return to Thomann stuff! Dont say if anything is problematic with the guitar, just return the thing as if you have changed your mind and it simply isnt to your liking. Let some other fool get it as a B-stock instead! eBay and other 2nd hand options from now on for me!!!

I have violated the warranty apparently (its like destroying the guitar even though its perfectly playable)! I just wrote an email to Thomann Denmark to hear what that have to say to this! I wrote about screws and guitars and me warning them about this artifact that has NOTHING to to with neck pockets! If they need to fix anything there wooden shims are to be used or those metal things used by Fender, BUT NOT sand paper!

Let some other fool get it as a B-stock instead! eBay and other 2nd hand options from now on for me!!! Reminds me of how they treated me when I returned my Sire M2 bass with a stripped truss rod nut straight from the box. When the bass was returned their technician said the nut was working properly, impossible! It was almost completely stripped, I used a high quality allen key and this was only just picking inside the nut, if I would have put any force on it it would have stripped the last bit of grip that was there. They send me a new bass anyway and never blamed me for anything so I guess they knew they were actually wrong but I hate being made out for an idiot who doesn't know how truss rods work. This incident also convinced of the fact that their QC is a farce and my respect for their technicians went down the drain!

Screws are there to be turned. It is what they are for. It is not a set neck guitar. It is designed in such a way that the user may adjust the neck angle to suit. Hopefully your mail to Thomann Denmark will reach someone with half a brain.
Most customers would have sent that guitar back immediately. I guess this is what you should have done. Lesson learned.

I dont midn them removing Warranty concerning anything with the neck-body connection (heel and pocket) BUT what about if tuners go bad after only a few month? What if fretboard wasnt glued properly and starts to peel off? (this did happen to John on this forum with his TE-90FLT).
Its not like this neck-body connection has anything to do with tuners or? So how do you remove the ENTIRE Warranty is beyond me! Any way, lesson learned, never ever tell about the issue and just return the guitar withinthe firts 14 days so they pay for the return postage! They never check return any way and even of they give it less than a minute just to make sure its inside the box and not crashed!

Thomann Denmark just replied saying they will forward my email to the Customer Service! I complained to them about their Customer Service and they send me back to them! Thats it! My money goes to another shop from now on! Thomann is anyway out of stock on many items like TC Electronic etc ... Gear4Music seem stocked well and there is this thing called 2nd Hand Market that I should use more anyway!

Screws are to be turned and this shouldn´t void any guarantee. But it´s the same with Gibson - I have the robot tuners on my SG and once you remove it, you have voided the guarantee. Even if you store it somewhere safe and then it doesn´t work anymore within the guarantee period.

I just remembered how they dealt the issue with my Traveler guitar and its Blackwood fretbaord that dried out so much (eventhough I have treated it with oil) and almost all frets become sharp and uneven to the point of string not even ringing out. It played perfect from the start!
I told them that I have no intent on keeping a guitar with such soft unstable fretbaorda and they said the only help they can manage is to give me a replacement!
I loose Warranty because some idiot didnt know how to assemble this guitar. They said they could have given me a replacement! I like this guitar as it resonates really well and feels good. I dont want a replacement I just want a good contact between the neck and body!
I guess they have too many customers and desire to loose a few. Thats fine with me. I have to put this experience behind me and focus on modding this guitar to my liking. I just hope this fretbaord was glued properly, all other bits I can fix/replace myself.

@chedapapa You mentioned that the board is dry on this guitar also. I was going to ask at a more appropriate time. Does it look like real ebony to you?

@chedapapa You mentioned that the board is dry on this guitar also. I was going to ask at a more appropriate time. Does it look like real ebony to you? This is my first ever Ebony. It does feel like Rosewood more than Ovankol (which I have on my CLD41S ) It is not the black Ebony but more black and rosewood like. I prefer this look to just plain black. Little oil fixed this dry look however.

Thank you. I have mentioned before that I am watchful for anything described as ebony coming from the Far East. It could be the real stuff. Don't understand why dry boards are such a common thing with HBs though. A little oil does work wonders but sometimes only for a few days.
Anyway, it is good that you are not now viewing the guitar as like a cuckoo in the nest.

Sorry to hear this @chedapapa it seems things being fit for purpose is a fing of the past. You have photos of it before you removed the neck, you would think thomann would see the guitar was not right!
Perhaps they just want faulty stuff returned rather than discounting the buyer for repairs or replacement parts. Which does not really make sense economically?
