The SC-400 has open humbuckers, klusen-style tuners, a matte finish and still a roseacer fingerboard. The SC-450 has a blackwood fingerboard, gloss finish, cream bindings and covered humbuckers. The Cherry Burst variant still has roseacer. The SC-500 is as the SC-450 with gold hardware, different pickguard and knobs. The SC-450 Plus has mahogany, a flame top, Roswell pick-ups, coil split and Klusen-style tuners. I would expect differences in the way the pick-ups sound. I find coil split a major feature on these guitars, I even changed mine to parallel wiring for more clarity, but I don't like the sound of Les Paul's to start with I have a SC-450Plus VB and it looks more orange than the pictures on the Thomann site: It now has mint green tuning things too:
