I've just got my first Harley Benton - a second hand black HB-35 in mint condition. Its the slightly older version with the rather ugly/badly shaped pick-guard, rather then the LP style triangular one on the current version. The finish of the guitar is almost perfect (the only thing I can find is just a tiny crack in the binding next to one fret) and the pick-guard does detract from its overall appearance. Obviously, I can just remove it but wondered if there were any cheap alternative that are known to fit. I can't comment of its playability yet: I managed to persuade my other half to let me get it as a Christmas present so its just hanging on the wall looking pretty as the moment. As far as I can tell, the frets will need polishing and the intonation needs adjusting slightly but the nut is cut very nicely, although the top string is slightly too close to the edge of the fretboard. Roll on Christmas when I can set it up and try it properly!

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

I suppose these could be tried: But this is based on a gamble that the screw holes in the Harley Benton would match those of a Gibson, which needs to be verified by laying pictures of both on top of each other.

I suppose these could be tried Thanks Leo. Certainly for the price, they might be worth a try. I think I'll also ask Thomann if their equivalent part fits the HB-35. They should know what fits but they sell so many different models that nothing is certain!

It's for an SC and looks like it will fit but the piece of metal that holds it likely won't be long enough. It seems the screw hole next to the neck won't be in the same place: And here you see how huge these guitars are. I find the SC too big already…

I just took mine off and didn't replace it (good enough for Weller's Casino)
