This guitar was either QC'd at Thomann or the masterbuilder put it together at the factory.
It's a lovely guitar a steal at £115.
I have been over it with a fine tooth comb, can't find any defects in the finish (even the corned beef pickguard looks good).
Not a sharp fret end anywhere, the fret ends are nicely angled and smooth as a baby's bum.
I used a fret rocker all over the frets and they are no more than a gnat's cock from perfect (being ultra critical).
If I had to find fault with them I'd be being picky if I said they could possibly do with a polish.
The binding on the neck is perfect, no ridges, no gaps. Tuners feel good but time will be a better judge than first impressions.
The Blackwood fretboard looks and feels ok the inlays are a nice touch, they get wider as you go up the neck. Satin feel neck.
Now the pups, what are they? well I'll be buggered if I know, they are not the P90'S with mounting screws between the pole pieces.
They look like the jazzmaster copy things in the JA 60 OW I have put a photo below.
Whatever they are? They sound fantastic, clean they are smooth and clear but when you add a little OD they bark!
They sound like P90's on steroids, honestly they are something else.
As I said earlier it was virtually in tune out of the box, the intonation is absolutely spot on, action 1.8 low E, 1.5 top E.
The relief is perfect, no dead spots or fret buzz, I can't believe how well it's set up.
As I said it must have been QC'd if I really nit pick the string trees are a tad crooked but I'll change them to rollers anyway.
In a couple of photos the edge of the pickguard looks rough but its the protective film not the pickguard.
some photos: please excuse the lighting (the Mrs and her low energy bulbs) in a couple it looks like things are off colour.
roberto a couple of shots of the bridge space on all saddles for adjustment 2mm on tightest one but that can be reversed if necessary.
