With pre-orders, especially when the wait time is continually moved forward I summise you would not be in business for long, LeoThunder. People want their gear now. One click and straight into the van.

One click and straight into the van. That's right and I am confident this is how recent models are handled but I suspect the more "legacy" stuff no longer sells that well and is being down-prioritised to make room for the more awaited ones. The Extreme 84 ranks at number 633 in the electric guitar category. Sitting stock is bad business.

With these pre-orders do we have the option to cancel when it is available, ready to ship? Does Thomann send us a message for us to confirm our orders before they take the payment? I would say they will inform you when already shipped. But you can cancel your order anytime unless already shipped. In this case you use the 14 days free return (for EU). For other countries there could be some charge for returning. For more details best to shoot an email to Thomann, they will give you the best answer.

Okay well this one is ranked 138 in the group and it is available now. If someone really wants to make a statement then they would do well to get something like this. Cheaper than the Extreme 84 too. Oh yes!

I suppose when the wait times are pushed forward we can of course cancel our order but it does not instill much confidence.
I have just been on the Thomann site and I see that you have to pay immediately for pre-orders. It was not clear to me before.

Oh yes! 138 in "heavy guitars", 1207 in "electric guitars", so it sells even worse, but I agree it's the one I'd rather go for

Looking at all these figures, I am pretty confident in the assumption that availability dates are pushed back because of lack of orders. I barely ever see an Extreme on ebay.

You must pay immediatelly for Pre-orders but not for items that will be in stock soon (in a few weeks). For out of stock you pay when they ship the package but for Pre-orders yes indeed they are trying to cover their own a r s so not to order too many. Which is fair. You still have your 30 days money back and 14 days free shipping return.
