Ogling the SC 1000 and at the pricing point it should make for a good mudding platform. I read that the previous L1000's came with 500k pots. Does anyone know what the current pots are?

Thanks, Eddie but that doesn't answer my question

If these models have real active pickups then they are unlikely to feature 500k potentiometers. Probably in the range of 10-25K

You may be correct, Isaac, but there is a blog written by a Czech guy that tells of swapping out the active pickups on an L 1000 which I believe is the predecessor to the SC1000. As memory serves me, he had some EMG's available but when he opened the electronics he found they had 500k pots! He swapped out the HB pickups, installed the 81/85's and changed the pots to the correct rating. He said the guitar sounded worse so he reinstalled the original pots and found some cheap slightly hot humbuckers and the guitar sounded great. And that is why I ask what the current model's pots are.

Yes I think Cory Mura also mentioned them being 500K but Im not sure if Harley Benton fixed this issue. Best is to write to Thomann's Guitar Team via e-mail. They seem to reply very in a day or two.
