I would like to replace all electronics in my CST-24HB. I watched a youtube video where Jay Parmar tried to get the electronics out and he literally could not get the lower potentiometer out because there was not enough room. Has anybody found a way to remove all electronics without causing damage?

I changed all the electronics on mine, and though the tone pot was a bit touchy, I can't say I had any problem with this. I could even replace the volume pot by a push-pull !
And because the distance between the pot holes and the f-holes is way shorter, it is much easier to operate than on any hollow/semi hollow of Gibson size. So I did not need any string to help me pulling the new pots to their place. my fingers were enough.
The guy on this vid is working badly. You must take evrything out of the guitar, than use a cardboard to make a template wit the pot/selector/jack holes a the exact place they are on the guitar. Then solder all the wires cut at the required length ( aka a bit more to ease the manoeuver) ... and then place everything and do the last solders
It took me 20min to do the job, and I did it several times

Yes, that video you posted is the one I was referring to. At 14:30 he states there is not enough clearance to remove the toggle switch or the tone potentiometer. I don't have my guitar at my residence right now so I can't verity the clearance issue. I was going to buy the new electronics and replace everything next week but now I'll have to wait until I get the guitar to see for myself. I thought maybe someone here had successfully replaced these already.

I think he is talking about this one: it changed my mind about geting one HB cst24hb. ROFL, this video is a total bull****, just check my post above
.... OK I repeat : I own a CST24-HB, and I changed EVERY electronic parts on it several times
Capite ?
EDIT :
Tiny and true story that hapened last week : a friend of mine, pro stage musician ( guitar, keyboards, drums ) had also the same CST24-HB as mine, upgraded with a magical pair of P94 pups. He also has a friend who owns a highest grade PRS Hollowbody, and this guy requested the HB after trying it, because he needed a spare to use where and when it is not advised to show a 5000+$ guitar up. So my friend got a stupidly good Korean €piphone Riviera P93 15 years aged in exchange... I played the Riviera a few days ago ... both did a very good deal

oghkhood thanks for the info. I will go ahead and order my new electronics. I actually ordered two alnico 2 magnets for this guitar but I think I will replace the pickups instead of replacing the magnets.

I haven't decided what pups to put in the CST-24HB. I have a two sets of Iron Gear pups: Blues Engine and TeslaShark. I'll be playing hard dirty nasty blues. I may try replacing the magnets and then try the Blues Engines.

I am just preparing for the job of changing the pickups on my CST-24HB Tortoise flame. And I am here for any help I can get to make this work out. I have pictures of the guitar, pickups a.s.o right here: photos.app.goo.gl/B9f2Uk8zuoWGjk9SA(I couldn't find a way of uploading pictures, so I chose to publish the album) The pickups I've chosen are these: Vanson AlNiCo V P90, Humbucker size Single Coil Pickup, HB90 for the Neck Vanson '57 Alnico II PAF style Humbucker for the Bridge Here You can hear the Alnico V P90 on a Gretsch:

This is the only google result that comes up when googling this issue so I am gonna post this here, because its definitely challenging. Maybe others have different sized hardware and found it easier. Tone pot: you need to take the input jack off (no need to de-solder), I used a rubber covered electrical screwdriver to push the tone pot up toward the neck of the guitar from the input jack hole. I pushed it on the long side and it came eventually. Toggle switch: I kept all the electronics inside the guitar but unfixed from their mounting holes and I turned the toggle switch around 180 degrees then pushed it by its long edge towards the pickups. btw, I absolutely adore this guitar! ibb.co/wsSNzYZ

I own that guitar and for the price it's a very good product. Why do you want to change the pick ups? A set of Duncans will cost more than you paid for that guitar. The CST 24 solid body has the same pick ups with more tone and bite, but that's due to the solid mahogany body.

rockbandguy : HB + Phat Cat are the best choice for the CST24 imho. I did the same on mine with a set of Duesenberg pups, I have never eared another guitar sounding that well in middle position. I suggest you add a serial/parallel switch to your humbucker ... you may appreciate lyph : Tonerider AC2 =>>>> yesssss I know this set because a mate mounted these on his L550 Paradise, and I own a Tele with the AC2 tele set, these vintage pups are very good, regardless of the price
