Does anybody know if the fretboard inlays on the CST-24HB are "real" inlays or if they are just decals applied to the wood? They look like decals to me. I'm going to pull the frets and install Jescar EVO Gold wire and drill the orange dots and inlay turquoise. If the markers are decals I might have to route out the whole thing.

I remember a review or a post saying the inlays were not very good on their guitar, (there were a few gaps between the inlay and fretboard on one of the inlays). So from that I'm under the impression they are inlays not decals. The CST-24HB is going to be my next guitar but I have to wait for some weeks before they are in stock again.
I hope another poster can confirm they are indeed inlays.

I don't have the CST you mention, but have two HB's with inlays and they are definitely inlays. Usually if the spec states inlays they are inlays.

I confirm. Authtical inlays on mine and a friend's.
And I would add, these inlays are made better than on several 600€+ €piphone guitars that I know

I keep struggling with that CST-24HB model. I'm normally not fond of the shape but it looks good with F-holes and I really like that flame top. I'm just not sure which I would prefer, the TOL Tobacco or the Tortoise.

Would anyone know what the fingerboard material was on recent models as seen on this picture? The web site announces jatoba in 6-7 weeks and old demos had rosewood, but I also see roseacer was in use at some point.

I was surprised how easily I got used to play naked ebonol fingerboards with side dots only. I suppose the overloaded tree would have the same effect.
