I got my sc1000 VB and it has some strange noise even in the clean channel and regardless of what pickup is being used, whether bridge or neck Here is a recording filebin.net/0fuqjnfqfzslzeyz where i switch between to guitars, direct to sound card with pre-amp to the minimum to avoid any signal overload Is this an issue that could be easily solved? I would rather fix it myself than have to ship it back and wait for a replacement

Dreadful. The stupid question first: is the battery new?

Yes, battery is new. It’s the one that came with the guitar

That doesn't make it new. Who knows how long it's been there? Try a fresh one and see if that noise goes away.

Will do and get back with feedback, hopefully it’s the battery

These pick-ups are somewhat noisy but not this way. You can hear them hiss here:

The mp3 i attached initially is a recording using the guitar straight to a sound card (motu 828 mk3), line level, so no extra is being added to the signal path The same noise when i use it with my amp modelers (zoom g5n or podxt)

Unfortunately a brand new battery did not make a single difference Any other clues before i send it for warranty? Bad soldering perhaps?

All into the computer though? Always through software? Have you any method of listening in an analogue way? It sure sounds like something's clipping somewhere. Is there a trim pot in the preamp or anywhere along your signal that you can knock back? What if you lower the pickups themselves? I tried different devices. No analog option though as my amp simulators are digital, but i have four other guitars and none does this kind of buzzing It sounds like something is clipping but i have tried keeping the guitar volume to 1, the sound card preamp is disabled at line level signal, A/B comparison with other guitars shows that there is definitely an issue with the Harley benton one

Unfortunately a brand new battery did not make a single difference Any other clues before i send it for warranty? Bad soldering perhaps? Since this occurs on both pick-ups, all you have left to check is the way to the output jack. It's worth a try, although I'm not sure a bad connection could produce this.

Tried checking the output jack as well, nothing unusual. I guess there are no other options than returning it Thanks

Of course you wouldn't see a bad soldering point. When you say the noise is independent of the pick-up used, have you selected the pick-up using the switch or the volume? I assume the switch but it's worth asking. In this case, I would see 4 points to re-do, marked in red:
