Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

Hi, maybe my reaction is late, but I have good message for you all, which own active HBZ guitars. Problem is not in the pickups. They are decent, without excessive noise, comparable with other active PUs brands. There is lot of another problems, which lead to your experience with annoying crackling noise of these guitars. First, there is missing any shielding. No conductive paint, no copper or alluminium tape. Just same paint as outside. So, firstly you need make shielding of all cavities, including the pickups cavities, and carefully connect it to signal ground.
Second serious problem is, that tune-o-matic bridge is painted with non-conductive paint! So, your string have poor contact to ground, and this is, what makes them act like a antenna for all EMI garbage around. Ground is connected through the bridge post near the pots. I recomment remove the paint from the post and bridge surface, on every place, where are these part touching. And, also, post is not very tight in the thread, so use small piece of copper tape to tight it, for ensure of good contact. After this, apply a small amount of contact cleaner spray for prevent of the oxidation and possible connection degradation after some time.
Third issue is the poor quality of all internal soldering. Please resolder entire joints on pots, wires connections etc...
After this work, instrument is really quiet, no annoying noise on the hi-gain channel, even if you not touching the strings! My SC-1000 is actually with the same quality of signal, as original Eclipse EC-1000. I can provide a short video with my guitar plugged into Marshall tube combo with ultra drive channel.
