OK so No.1 was the Fenders. All I can say is it was the only one that sounded different to me. The other two sounded the same as each other. Slightly brighter where the Fender sounded a little thicker. All good though, and with playing chops like that he'd have no problem with any of them. I think that possibly the video could have been better edited and shortened so the emphasis was more on making it easy for us to compare the sounds and less on us hearing how well he can play. I'm going back now to see if I can find all three not in a mix. 2:00 PU 1 clean 2:43 PU 1 crunch 3:00 PU 1 mix 3:56 PU 2 clean 4:41 PU 2 crunch 5:09 PU 2 mix 6:04 PU 3 clean 6:45 PU 3 crunch 7:07 PU 3 mix 9:00 All three again (mix) 11:32 Reveal I posted that comment to the video when I first saw it, the time stamps can be clicked for direct access. I remember I found the cheap PUs noticeably duller but not something I would throw away. The Fender PUs had more high end. I only ever listen to clean sounds in such demos. The rest is merely demonstrating the amplifier.

To be honest, I can't bear to change the pickups of my ST-20 at this juncture (not sure if I will change my mind in the near term). I just don't have much to complain about them. It is just strange...considering I have changed the stock on Fusion Pro II and CST-24 almost quite quickly after acquiring them. If it helps, I have recorded a quick audio demo of the ST-20 with clean, crunch, high gain and playing over a backing track (something that I've been learning of late) with the crunch tone. Please pardon my amateurish playing. https%3A//soundcloud.com/user-65123822/st20Taken on its own, I find nothing objectable to the sound. I think these would do for me too.

I'm going to get one ST-20 matte when it's available. I'm not getting any because I just received this. That's enough black for today. Yes, it's glossy. I'll keep it clean, I promise. I've wanted this for quite some time. Still looks better than any strat' to me. And it's thin!

I'm going to get one ST-20 matte when it's available. I need to find another one or two HB's to go along with it to help offset the price of shipping. Pups can be easily changed if they're not that good. I'm sure they're as good as stock Squier pups. I think a matte black pickguard would look great with it. You should totally get one! give the stocks a shot ...no harm changing them afterwards. Ive actually have a brush metal pickguard on standby hahaha arent we visual animals haha Ive been itching for another thomann buy too...although I know there is no reason why I would need another HB haha just really curious about the new headless...

There's nothing like looks to make me want a guitar. The next thing is a hard structural attribute like extended range, fretless or 12 strings. These things bring what an amp cannot create so I still want a 6 string fretless (why does it have to be black?) and a 12 string (why does it have to be a bloody Tele?) at some point.
