You probably know already but you may need to enlarge the cavity/routing to accommodate a full size P90. kodiakblair put a link to an eBay seller in the bass section. The seller makes pick guards to order I believe. They are a tad on the expensive side around €40 with P&P but they fit and and are good quality (see Ebay feedback). Those deals for the Squier Jazzmaster's are very reasonable 👍. Good luck.

That is a swimming pool of a cavity 😳 tbh I've not seen a bad Squier their quality control does seem very good for the price. I dare say like all brands you get the occasional lemon but they are usually good..
Happy NGD enjoy 👍

Both the Squire Affinity strats I own have neck rout cavity and middle and bridge rout not the full swimming pool. They are both yako factory (Taiwan) 2007,2011 guitars. Unfortunately not wide enough to accommodate a full size P90.
I know with Squire serial numbers it can be a chore to find out where and when built. I have got a pdf file that lists all the info to relevant model/factory but it's can be a pain to research.
Tbh Squier get unfair criticism about pups but quite often it is down too 500k pots used in the strats. We all have our own opinions on how pups sound but with a little experimenting good result can be obtained as you know.
I look forward to hearing opinion on the jazzmaster after you've got to know it.

I believe at one time the gold logo was only on Indonesian Squiers. But with so many factories in different countries building them it is a job to know. At one time certain youtubers were claiming the black logo guitars were better. Speaking on forums to people even the cheapest models get favourable report/reviews. I'm not really a strat person but like the maple fretboards on the Affinity Strats. I can't fault the two I have even though both have been modded. I know a lot of people buy Squiers just to mod them. I think a lot of these companies once they have your money don't care. What I would like to ask you ttmax how does the body size compare to the JA60? I know the JA60 is smaller than Fender Jazzmasters. Is the Squier closer to the Fender?

Yes and as you say the squier is larger especially in width than the harley benton, and also weighs 578gr more in addition to many other differences.

wow, look at the size of that magnet, it looks huge. At 13k dc resistance and a magnet that size, it sounds like a clone of a Dimarzio super distortion pickup. They'll be sure to tickle the front end of any amp.
How do you find the balance of the offset shape, any dive either neck or body butt end?
