ok so I am really close to pulling the trigger on a Harley Benton EX-76 Classic. all around beautiful explorer.
the problem is the photos on the website.
there are 2 models. gold and white hardware. slightly different prices.
in the website photos, the GOLD model clearly has a wood grain neck. the WHITE model clearly has a black painted neck.
the problem is that, in most of the reviews online, it appears that the guitar RECEIVED when buying the GOLD model has a solid black painted neck instead of wood grain. if I were going to pay a little more for the gold hardware, then I really want the wood grain neck as pictured on the Thomann site. I guess that might seem silly or inconsequential but it's just my preference based on the 2 different designs (supposedly) being offered. it's pretty hard to ignore once you notice it. can anyone else confirm that this is a legitimate issue? is there an explanation for this?
models in question:

illustrated concerns.
clear difference. gold with grain. white with black.
versus
but in reality? gold with black.
gold with black.
gold with black.
Thomann customer reviews:
.
as if it weren't strange enough, Harley Benton's demo video - from HB's own youtube channel - shows the "correct" model.
gold with wood grain (youtube.com/watch?v=qKl3r6CH7xw).
I would love to know what exactly is going on here before spending any money. I understand nothing is perfect. like, these are affordable guitars in general, and the wood grain effect is not as intense in reality as it is shown from their high quality sales photos. that being said... the difference in the neck is pretty stark. I wouldn't usually care about the neck if Thomann themselves didn't make the difference so obvious but now I cannot unsee what I've seen. so I'm just curious. also for the record? I've already bought a Harley Benton DC-600 VI; absolutely love it. this would be my 2nd Harley, and after being so impressed with the DC, I would hate to be disappointed by such a trivial detail on the EX. otherwise I wouldn't really be worried about it. thanks in advance to whoever can shed some light!
